My Lululemon Collection

Ok...I am relatively new to LLL. I bought my first item last November and it has been downhill from there. I am starting to slow down, now that I have more than enough pants, crops, jackets, and tanks. I have had "fixes" where I would buy nothing but pants or tanks at a time....lately it has been sweaters and jackets since fall has rolled around. I definitely think I have enough of every category, so my future purchases won't be as extreme. From now on, I'm just going to buy the occasional piece and hope to limit it to once a month (if that).

Clockwise from top left: Right round pants, bliss break sweats, track to reality (forgot to add soot light studio pants). Tall pace setters skirts. WAFS white speed shorts and some black booty shorts (outlet, forgot name). Inkblot and inkwell pinstripe WUs. WAFS inkwell and black inspires and WAFS white pacesetter crops.

My unicorn in the collection is definitely my inkblot WUs. My yoga studio in Charleston was an affiliate and carried LLL. One day they pulled out old LLL items like light flash WUs. They had one pair of inkblot in a sz4 and they were still priced at $68....definitely a steal. I'll probably get rid of them at one point since I don't practice yoga much up here.

Clockwise from top left: Short and LS swiftlys. Scuba hoodies (I only get printed scubas). Bliss break jacket and forme jackets. DSJs. Exhalation pullovers and chai pullover.

Clockwise from top left: LLL various bras. CRBs and frond swiftly tank. No Limits tanks. Other Shelf bra tanks. 105 singlet.

I think my absolute favorite item is my inkwell WAFS. I even got them in a sz 4 (I wear sz 6 for luxtreme) at the time, and they are really opaque. I can wear any color of undies and they don't show. The cut is really flattering and the color is unique.

I have a weakness for WAFS prints. I have bought most of the items that came out in neutral colors. I like solid CRBs, because I wear them as basics tanks under my clothes. I try not to get too crazy patterns because I want to be able to wear it with several color combinations. I try not to buy something if I can only wear it with one color.

I stopped buying bra tops since I don't go to yoga as much. I still keep them because they are good for summer runs when it is hot out, but they are little too skimpy for my really conservative gym at work (which is also why I have been buying more jackets so I'm not running around in tank tops).

So yeah....pretty bad over the last 9-10 months. I work 12-16 hour days and take the metro to work, so I don't wear too much casual clothes lately. I really don't buy that much non-LLL unless its a nice dress for dinner. My brain is fried when I'm done with the day, I just want to be be comfortable. When I'm not at work, I'm playing golf, running, or working out....so there's not much free time for anything else.

I find humor in the fact I can drop $100 for a pair of yoga pants, but cringe if my jeans are over $100. A $200 dress may look great, but I would only wear it a handful of times before its either out of date or I'm tired of it. I used to have a ton of Nike tanks and shorts to work out in, but I couldn't really get by with running around town, doing errands with them. There have been many times where I have worn a LLL top and jacket, thrown on some skinny jeans for the grocery store, and the change back to a pair of crops for the gym. I wouldn't want to ONLY wear LLL, but it does help me look not as sloppy when I just want to be lazy and comfortable...and still look cute :).

Lululemon Angel Stripe Forme II Jacket

Ugh....I caved.....I bought the LLL Forme II Jacket in Angel Stripe. Did I need it? No....but I didn't stop thinking about it. Mainly because:

1. Its a grey stripe.  There is something classic about this print. It would go with any LLL top I own, with the exception of a print....and I only own I printed CRB.

2. It's the Forme "II". I wanted to see what the hype was with the second Forme...especially since it had "Cuffins".

3. Fall is coming. Sometimes I feel like a crazy squirrel hoarding its nuts. I have "fixes" where I will just buy one thing and I"m done. Sometimes its bags, shoes, tank tops....this period seems to be jackets/sweatshirts.

I think I will end up wearing this a lot. It does have good versatility and it already has been cooling off a lot at night. I go to the driving range as late as 9:00pm, and I'll know I'll get a lot of wear out of this one like my other soot light forme jacket.

Comparing the Forme (Soot light) to the Forme II w/ cuffins (Angel wing)

I try not to get Scubas or Forms in solid colors. I liked the Soot Light one because it had more denim material than Luon, giving it a different look. When the angel wing pattern came out, I really wanted to try it on. Comparing it to the first one, they are both a size 6. This is a size up to all of my other jackets and hoodies, with the exception of the DSJ (a size 8). I can tell it is a more fitted jacket than the first one, and it is much longer in the front. In the back, it looks like the same length. The arm length is slightly shorter. I have long arms, so I never really complained about the forms long sleeves. They are shorter and tighter....not belling out as much as the other one. The cuffins are nice. The collar is lower than the first jacket. On the first jacket, I cannot zip it much lower than the top of the omega without it starting to flop down. The second one can be zipped halfway down the chest and it doesn't fall down.

I wish I had a define to compare it to, but I have never tried on a define. I still like my first jacket, but they did make few moderate changes to the forme to make it more appealing to others. They did this with the scubas and had great success.

I really like this one, but I haven't ripped my tags off yet....what do you think?

Lululemon Upload!

I noticed there was a lot of excitement over this upload, but I was underwhelmed with this one.

There was a lot of buzz over the Right as Rain Jacket. This does nothing for me. I have seen many photos and not one has made me think, "that's a really cute rain coat." It's long, shapeless, and plain. I might as well be wearing a trash bag....especially at $198. The jacket needs a defined waist. It looks frumpy and matronly. I don't think any guy is going to see that and think its attractive.

I've had a Columbia Sweet as Softshell in white. It was a technical raincoat, but still had a waist and gave some shape. I know the LLL is a longer one, but there is no reason it couldn't have a more defined waist.

The piece I really liked was the Forme Jacket in Angel Wing. I didn't buy it though, because I just bought a few LLL jackets and I didn't need another one....especially since I couldn't get by with it with casual wear like some of my other ones. I would get a lot of wear out of it, because I think it would match almost all of my LLL tops.

I also really like the swiftly half zip. I have been waiting for months for one to come out. Once it did, I didn't see any colors I wanted! I am burnt out of plum, I just bought a LS Blue Moon swiftly, and I didn't really care for the other two colors! Hopefully they will keep it around with some new colors. Maybe an inkwell or indigo...something I can wear with many color combinations.

The last item is something that stood out in a ridiculous way. I actually really like the item, but question their styling judgement......Mr. Miyagi called....and wants his bandanna back.

Other goodies like striped CRBs...I can see the interest, but nothing for me! I'm hoping to see some new colors next week!

Exhalation Pullover

Ok...first outfit/product review of LLL's Exhalation Pullover.

I have heard a lot of comments how the back looks like a pregnant belly or the pleat is ugly.

I really, really love this pullover for the following reasons:

1. It's made of French Terry....really the main reason.
It is the softest material and has a cozy factor.

2. It's not a crop top.
LLL has cranked out a ton of French Terry cropped/short pullover. This is the first one in awhile that is long enough to cover the bum.

3. It is a wardrobe stable.
It's slim in the front and has a billow in the back (on trend this fall). Its can be worn with skinnys or yoga pants, which gives it wardrobe versatility.

I think a lot of people have issues with it because of the sizing. If it is too small, it will pull on the shoulders. If it is too big, it give you a bump in the back. The top will fit right if it has a straight line down the back, covering the bum. It's one of those items that can't be forced to fit. If you're in-between sizes, just let it go and wait for the next great item.

As for the pleat. I like the pleat. My bliss break jacket has pleats on the top, and I think it gives the jacket a feminine touch. Without the pleat it would make it just a plain pullover. The pleat gives the shirt the ability to curve around the butt and give it shape.

I liked this pullover so much I bought both colors. In the first photo, I am wearing the heathered grey pullover with my LLL heathered blue moon swiftly LS, skinny jeans, and tall Frye boots. (sorry for the lazy photo. I didn't pull it down in the back and didn't realize it until after I had took it off).

In the second photo, I'm wearing the heathered black pullover with my power purple CRB and Old Navy carbon leggings. It gives a good comparison of casual to workout.

Here it goes...again!

From the recommendations of fellow LLL-Lovers, I have decided to give this blog a try and see if I can keep up with it.

Just to give a little background....
I just moved from DC for work. My husband is in his final application process, so we have been doing a lot of back-and-forth travel from Charleston.

For sports, I have tried (almost) everything. From college running, firefighter competitions, yoga, wakeboarding, and now golf....life is an adventure and there's not many things I wouldn't try!

Lately, most of my time is spent playing golf. I still lift weights and run, but I have been focusing on activities that let me unwind and golf has been great for me....especially since there is a public course nearby that keeps their driving range and putting greens open until 10:30. I haven't practiced yoga since I moved, but I love Baron Baptiste .....very surprised it was difficult to find. The LLL girls on P street invited me to their Wednesday yoga session, so I might give that a try.

I fell into Lululemon after some heavy resistance in Charleston. My whole yoga studio had the LLL fever, and I didn't get the hype. After resisting and contemplating the "need", I broke down in November and it was all downhill from there.

With my commute to work and busy sch edule, I really love that LLL has clothes that I can wear as exercise or casual pieces. I love that I can wear something that is comfortable, but yet stylish. There have been many times I've worn outfits like my Chai Pullover and CRB with skinnys and Frye boots.....then a quick change into my yoga pants and I'm ready to workout.

There's no reason workout clothes cannot be stylish for those who are constantly on the go. My blog will focus on new brands, current styles, and ideas for the girl on the move. Whether at the driving range, going to yoga, or out at the grocery store, anyone can look great.....even in workout clothes :).
