Weekly Workout Wear - 3/3-3/7

Ok...I'm going to try something new so bear with me....

It has been extremely difficult to keep up with my weekly fitness report on Sundays due to when and where I work. Since I work at a 5 sided building that prohibits photography, my workout wear reports rely on me re-trying on my clothes for photo at night in crappy lighting or on the weekend.

I always pack my clothes for the week. It helps me figure out what I need to bring and I can ensure I'm not wearing the same things over and over. As a test, I'm going to post my photos in advance on what I'm going to wear and then followup with what I actually did. This way, I don't have to nix the whole report if I don't have time at the end of the week to take photos.

So as a new approach, let me know what you think. I'll have actual outfit photos for some of the nightly and weekend activities (i.e. lifting, trapeze, golf), but this should be better than nothing!

MONDAY

Activity: Weight Lifting/Circuit (Golf lesson canceled due to snow)

Outfit: Bali breeze Breath Easy bra, beachscape CRB, Athleta white Shiva top, Athleta catalina green Chatarunga Capri, NB Minimus

TUESDAY

Activity: 2 hours of Static Trapeze (ouch)

Outfit: Mod dot Energy bra, Nike red spandex shorts, Athleta black Chai Long tank, PS WUC, and brisk bloom Bangbuster

Note: This is the first time I'm wearing "booty" shorts to trapeze and only because my instructor asked me to for partner work. I have searched high in low in the stores to find a good pair and I couldn't find one. Finally out of desperation, I pulled out an old Nike pair from college....I was amazed how soft and well they fit. I guess it worked out in the long run.

WEDNESDAY

Activity: Weight Lifting/HITT

Outfit: Cadet Heathered/Space Dye Swiftly LS, rad plaid/flare Tracker shorts, reversible flare/beachscape Bangbuster headband, and NB Minumus.

THURSDAY

Activity: TBD....probably another lift day and some cardio

Outfit: Vintage pink Flow in Go tank, cadet blue Forme jacket, Glyder Mantra crops in acai berry space dye, and NB Minimus.

FRIDAY

Activity: HITT/run

Outfit: Zing pink All Sport bra, clear mint CRB, zing pink Forme jacket, PS Shake and Break, Brooks PureFlow running shoes

That's all I got for now....Workout Report to be posted on Sunday!

Brand Review: Fabletics

My December package came in yesterday, and I have another package from Fabletics!

Last month I gave my first review for Fabletics. Kate Hudson has teamed up with Fabletics to create fashionable and affordable fitness apparel for women.

Here's what they have to say about their company:

"Fabletics is an innovative, high-quality athletic wear and accessories line that helps you feel great, look great, and fits your budget. Our designs uphold our core principles of fit, function, and style for fabulously active women. From the essentials to fashion-infused designs, we offer a range of athleticwear for the workout and beyond."

Fabletics is a monthly subscription for fitness apparel. As a Fabletics subscriber, you will receive a monthly selection of outfits to select from. These outfits typically range from 2-3 pieces and are priced at $49.95-59.95. Shipping is free, you can opt out on months you want to skip, or cancel at anytime. The website currently advertises the first outfit at 50% off.

Now I will admit, I was very skeptical after my first review. I was not blown away with the items out the packaging, but I find myself reaching out for both of my pieces over and over!

Last month I ordered the "stretch" package, and I wear my Kingston hoodie all the time. It looks a little boxy out the wrapper, but it is so comfy I end up choosing it over some of my Lululemon hoodies! It's a really great "lounge" piece. My Asaro leggings have been pretty good too. I just wore them today under my Lululemon Track to Reality pants to stay warm on my snowy run.

Last week I ordered the "Spirited" package on December 1st. The package came 6 days later. With the holidays coming up, I was pretty happy to get some "festive" leggings for Christmas. At $59.95, I figured it would be a good deal even if I wasn't 100% happy with the items. A jacket and a pair of leggings at Lululemon can easily push past $200. At roughly $30 a piece, I don't really know what to expect in terms of quality.

When I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised! The yoga pants are "Salar" leggings and there is a pocket on the front hip. Up on the top left corner, I placed my "love red" Lululemon CRB on top for a color combination. You can't see the difference in the photo, but the yoga pants are slightly darker. The leggings are about as "true" red as you could want. When I pulled them up, they felt compressive and even thick. They are not "winter" thick, but a good thickness for yoga. When I did the bend test at the knee, the material wasn't transparent.

(Note: You can expect sheerness, if you been your knee up and see skin. If your knee looks like you're wearing pantyhose, your pants are more than likely too thin.)

I didn't really know what to think about the jacket when I placed my order. While I liked the herringbone-like print, I worried that this jacket would look terrible in person. When I felt the jacket, the first thing I noticed was it was really soft, but thin. After I put it on, it felt just like a Lululemon Swiftly....so essentially this is a printed Swiftly with a full zipper. The print is adorable in person, but my only complaint is the zipper. I love the red accent, but it is a plastic zipper. I would have rather seen a metal, but I'm sure that is one of the small factors that make up the price difference.

I have done another Swiftly dupe review with a Marshall's brand, but the material felt nothing like it. The Marshall's brand was very scratchy. This one was very soft. While it is very thin for a true "jacket," this is going to get a lot of use in the spring and early summer. It will provide enough coverage and the zipper will allow me to peel it off quickly. Perfect for hot yoga, running, and cycling.

Here you can see the thinness of the "jacket," but I would just consider this as a long sleeve with a zipper. Similar to the Lululemon Swiftly Half-Zip.

Sorry for the chest shot...I wanted to give you guys a better view of the pattern. For being printed, it is a very pretty herringbone print.

By the way, my studio lights throw off the true color.
My pants are exactly the same color in the stock photos.
So this is the full outfit. I'm a lot more impressed with this month's delivery. After the first month, I wasn't planning on keeping my subscription....but I started to reach out for items from my first order more and more, and I am very happy with this month's designs. I really like the top as a potential alternative for Lululemon's long sleeve Swiftly. At $68 Lululemon's top is great, but over priced.

I'm going to order again next month to inspect the quality of their long sleeves....so far, I'm impressed!

(These items were purchased with my own money, and my review has no promotion or association with the company)

Lululemon try-on review from the house....

So here is my damage....Practice Daily tank in deep zin, Practice Daily crops in inkwell, Ruffled CRB in angelwing, WUs in pique, and deep zin knit legwarmers.

One of the readers wanted a comparison of my other pique Skinny Wills to my new ones. I think the new print is a little thinner, but they are just as opaque. I really love the new pair. They are so flattering. My WUs only have one inside seam, while the Skinny Wills have an inside and outside seam. They both are really cozy and make great winter leggings.

Just a warning....my apartment is a WRECK from my husband moving his stuff in! Please don't mind the TV and golf clubs in the background!

Here's the pique WUs on me. I tried to get some close ups so you can see the print. The print is much more subtle than my other pique ones.

Probably spotted my Ruffled CRB from the previous photo, but wanted to give you an up close version so you could see how much it pokes out. I'm wearing it with my JCrew rolled SS sweatshirt.

I tried to get some better light for this tank. I think it is definitely a curve enhancer and I really love the deep zinfandel color!

I really liked the Daily Crops. They are so compressive and the details are very cute! They will be a good staple to have.

Just an idea for yoga clothes turned into casual wear. The first outfit is JCrew SS Sweatshirt, angelwing Ruffled CRB, and inkwell Practice Daily crops. The next is the same tops with skinny jeans, deep zinfandel Knit Legwarmers, and Frye Veronica Slouch boots. Yoga clothes to gym clothes with just a change of pants!

I also tried a few more combos for causal Lululemon outfits with my new "boot socks."

I forgot to mention I got the surge ear warmer! Which one do you like better....my surge one or the quilted deep zin one? I think I'm leaning towards the quilted one!

(A little late) Weekly Review

Sorry for the late weekly review! I have been so exhausted this weekend. I ended up volunteering Friday-Sunday, so I ended up working after work on Friday and waking up really early Saturday and Sunday. My schedule has been all out of whack since.

I bought these awesome suede New Balance Minimus trail shoes for $50 and have been wearing them non-stop! Like my five fingers (which I don't wear anymore because the blue makes me look like an Avatar), they have a Vibram sole, so I still get that "barefoot" experience....including achy calves.

Well this is the week of the jackets! With the weather getting colder...I'm starting to bust out my long sleeves!

Tuesday, Oct 22nd - Weight Lifting

Marshall's brand purple jacket, clarity yellow ribbed CRB, and grey Old Navy crops.

Wednesday, Oct 23 - Weight Lifting/Run

Heathered black Bliss Break jacket, plum Race Me short sleeve, and grey Under Armor fleece shorts.

Thursday, Oct 24 - Weight Lifting

Soot light Forme jacket, love red CRB, white WAFS Pacesetter crops, and white Bangbuster.

Friday, Oct 25 - Cardio

Pretty pink 105f singlet, grey New Balance bra (Marshalls), and black WAFS Inspire crops.

Saturday, Oct 26 - Off!
I'm starting to wear my long sleeve swiftly under my casual clothes! It doesn't scream workout apparel when layered!

Massimo Dutti navy blazer and blue scarf, blue moon Swiftly LS, Express jeans, ink Coach loafers, and LV Boetie wallet.

Sunday, Oct 27 - Marine Corps Marathon (Volunteer)
Ok...I would have completely rethought my shoes if I known I was going to be at the Gatorade station, vice the water station. The faster runners would try to "catch" the cups...but would end up spilling most of the Gatorade....on me. My shoes were soaked with stickiness. I probably would have opted for some crappier old shoes.

Cornflower Star Runner pullover, blue moon Swiftly LS, inkwell Track to Reality pants, Jack Purcell Converse sneaks, and Sweaty Bands headband.

With my new Sweaty Band....love these! They haven't slipped at all!

Changed over for afternoon golf. Swapped my Track to Reality pants for my inkwell Urbanite pants, white Adidas golf shorts, and beaming blue Classy cap.

Monday, Oct 28 - Running

Heathered black Exhalation pullover, pretty pink 105f singlet, pique Skinny Will pants, and pretty pink Run With Me earwarmer.

Tuesday, Oct 29 - Weight Lifting
Changed over at the last minute...was feeling something bright! Kinda a little grateful that no one bought my laceoflauge Scuba! I remembered why I liked it so much!

Polar cream laceoflauge Scuba, grey Nike tank, and teal Marshall's brand crops.

So cold lately! It would be warm in Charleston all year round....only getting cold at night. I'm not used to reaching out for all these warming layers!

Lululemon Store Visit - 10/23/2013, Online Order, and Marine Corps Marathon.

Store Visit

After getting a product drop today, I decided to go to Arlington to check out the pretty pink Nice Asana jacket and to try on a few other new items.

I was disappointed in the pretty pink Nice Asana jacket. I wanted this one for sure, but it was a little on the thin side. I could see my bra through the material and it cheapened the look.

The Harmonious Hoodie was plain. I think the bottom elastic was supposed to look ruffle-like, but it just looks cheap.

There was also nothing special about the Harmonious sweats. The hoodie was soft, but the pants were a little scratchy. There wasn't anything that made me love them.....it only made me appreciate my Blissed Break sweats even more.

The Dog Runner pants were so comfy and warm. I wasn't a fan of the fit....they felt fine, but looked like a train wreck on me. There was so much puckering on the butt and crotch, despite the fit being comfortable.

There was another new scuba at the store. I don't think this one made this week's upload.

I ended up getting a pretty pink 105 f Singlet and black WAFS inspires. I only have one singlet and I looove it. It's one of my favorite pieces....I've been patiently waiting for a color I can get a lot of versatility out of, and the pink is perfect....it goes well with black, blue, and plum. Just a note, these are on the larger size. I always buy a size 4 CRB, and my two singlets are a size 2.

I am a WAFS fanatic! My inkwell Inspire crops are my #1 favorite Lululemon item. They material is so thick and compressive....the back seams make your butt look ah-MAZE-ing. I love these more than luon WUs. They breathe well and don't attract as much dirt and dander.

I feel like my WAFS collection is now complete :).

I also got the Star Runner pullover in cornflower and the Speed Tights * Lux in inkwell paisley. I really like both of these items....they equally have little details that make them both special.

I liked the Star Runner pullover, but the other ones I tried on felt too busy. With the stripes, ruffles, paisley lace....it felt a little too much. I really liked the saloam stripe, but there was just too much going on. The cornflower one was perfect. The lack of stripes didn't complete against the ruffles and lace. It definitely felt more balanced.

The inkwell paisley Speed tights had so much going on, it was hard to capture all the detail. Although I would have preferred a more matte finish like the Speed * Cozy tights, the subtle paisley print made these tights unique. I really liked the scrunched ruffles on the bottom and the large side pocket for my iPhone. The back has a good-sized pocket and the upside-down "U" shape on the butt is super flattering. Still wishing they were a little more matte, but I didn't like the hyperstripe waistband on the cozy ones.

I finally ripped off my tags for my Frye boots! Thanks for all the positive feedback.....I ended up loving them!

By the way....I stopped by Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack and was shocked to see a BUNCH of special edition Coach Fyre boots. These boots were CRAZY expensive when they came out last year. I think they had all of the styles expect the rabbit fur lined engineer boots. If they had those I would have snatched them up in a heartbeat! I wanted those so bad, but couldn't justify the price. These were significantly marked down.......ranging from $200-250.....a steal for any Frye boots, let alone SE ones!

Online Order

I ended up getting three items last week....

I was really happy to see this on markdown and snatched it up in my size. I'm so glad I did, because I ended up not liking the pretty pink one as much as I thought I would.

I ordered this on a whim, but I wish I had a chance to see this in the store. It said "reversible", so I thought the pipping wouldn't show reverse side. Just an FYI to the online buyers....the only "reversible" part of this one is the reflective material on the top. One is silver and the other side is black. Not too exciting, but I can't return it. I think I'll still get a lot of use out of it, now that its getting colder.

I bought these on a whim without thinking, and I'm 99% sure they are going back to the store. I have a pair of grey tights I bought at Old Navy. They are essentially the same color and I love them. They are so opaque and comfortable. For some reason, I was thinking that I didn't have a grey pair of leggings and then I remembered I had them....so I got the black WAFS Inspire crops and these will more than likely be going back to the store.

I talked to the manager today. She's so nice...I really love going to that store. My solid black ones are starting to fray. I don't know why, but the material isn't as good as the two WAFS pairs. I was worried my black ones wouldn't be as good as my inkwell ones, but they felt exactly the same. The manager said I can bring them in. I didn't want to wait to exchange them in case the black WAFS sold out in my size. So essentially, I have two pairs going back to the store. I don't feel as bad for buying two pairs of pants today!

Marine Corps Marathon

The store manager also invited me out to their cheer station at the Marine Corps marathon Saturday. They are all wearing cornflower blue at the 23 mile marker at the Crystal City metro stop. I really wanted to go....I would have turned my ugly brahmacharya bags I throw away into pom poms...finally they would have gotten a purpose.

I'm actually going to be volunteering at the Healthy Kids Fun Run during the marathon. Its a one mile just-for-fun race held at the Pentagon. I'll be there from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm (at least)....so if you're in the local area, stop on by. I'll be in uniform....camoflauge....but not the Lululemon kind :)

Here are few more outfits I wore in the past that are blue:
