Lululemon Review: Hot Hitter Polo and Tall Pacesetter Skirt

I recently picked up Lululemon's Hot Hitter Polo in White and Tall Pacesetter Skirt in Pretty Purple:

I really liked the material used for this polo. I have a few white polos, but they will all be retired for this one. I liked the details on the buttons. There was a blue color on the underside. I usually don't like the laser cutouts (i.e., Lightened Up Pullover), but the single strip of pattern didn't bother me.

I wish they didn't use the Swiftly material for the backside. I have noticed it gets wrinkled pretty easily.

I have a couple of these Lululemon Tall Pacesetter Skirts (Pinkelicious, Cadet, Black) and they are great for golf. I liked that this color came in 4-way stretch. It was much more comfortable than 2-way.

From Left to Right: Power Purple, Pretty Purple, Grapeseed.

Pretty Purple is a really light shade of purple. It's even much lighter than Grapeseed. I like all shades of purple :).

I think the color Pretty Purple goes really well with Cadet Blue. I've paired my Hot Hitter Polo and Pacesetter Skirt with my Cadet Blue Forme Jacket, White Classy Cap, and Adidas ClimaCool Ballerina Golf Shoes.

I ended up getting the polo in a size 4 and the skirt in a size 6. I only wear Cool Racerbacks in size 4, but sized down in this to give it a more fitted look. I wear a size 6 in all Lululemon skirts and shorts.

I really liked the fit of the polo. It's not skin tight, but it's not frumpy either. I like the side darts on the sides...it adds shape around the chest area. None of my other polos have darts around the chest area, so I really like that feature.

I think this is a great polo if you get the correct size. If you wear it a little large and untucked, its going to look sloppy.

:( I was on the way to my golf course and it started sprinkling....then the sprinkling turned into hard rain and thunder so I had to turn around. Booo....at least it will be nice tomorrow!

Lululemon Bust a Move Pants

My Lululemon Bust a Move pants were delivered last night. I ended up keeping them, but I have mixed feelings about them.

I really liked the fit of the Bust a Move pants. I thought the fit was very similar to the Urbanite pant I reviewed earlier this year, but slightly looser. The Ubanite pant was so tight, I didn't think the size 6 would work. I tried a size 8 and they were extremely loose. When I went back down to the size 6, they fit pretty well.

I felt that these fit TTS in size 6. If you liked the Urbanite pants and the other "urban" cycling-like pants Lululemon makes, you'll like these. They fit slim in the legs, like a pair of skinny jeans. The fit of the Bust a Move pants was a tiny (very tiny) bit looser than the Urbanite pants.

I liked the side zipper. This will definitely be handy for keys or a credit card, but I didn't really care for the slanted motorcycle-like stitching on the front. I didn't really care for this, because it seemed a little dated to me. The motorcycle-style jeans were big a few years ago, but they left pretty quickly. I think these pants would have been a slam dunk without the front stitching....plus it feels pretty odd.

I'll add some more photos tonight comparing the Bust a Move to the Urbanite pants...so keep checking for updates...

I got a chance to test-drive them on the golf course today. I really liked the soot light. I have been wanting a pair of grey or black pants for golf, and the grey isn't has harsh as black. It compliments my inkwell Urbanite pair. They were overall pretty comfortable. I didn't notice them on the course, which is great. They felt very similar to my Urbanite pair. I like that they don't scream grandma golf pants. There were a lot of ladies today, and I don't think I saw a single pair of well-fitting golf pants. Even the Nike ones look a little frumpy.

We had some nice weather today. It was in the high 60s, but there was still a bit of a chill. I also wore my Parallel Stripe Fleet Street pullover with a white polo and white classy cap. I think next time, I will add more color to this combination. The Fleet Street pullover was great for golf though....it kept me warm and it didn't feel like an actual sweater.

Here is an up close photo of the Bust a Move pants (I"m lying down). The stitching is a bit of an annoyance, but I don't even notice it when I'm playing golf. I just think it would be a lot better without the stitching in the front.

Well that is all for now, I'll try to add some comparison photos tonight!

Women's Golf Apparel - Lululemon

Ok...I talk about it a lot here....I play golf...a lot.

I was so excited for months when there were rumors of a new Lululemon women's golf line.....and what did we get out of it? A lousy polo that was plain and ill-fitting and a pair of plain-jane bermuda shorts.

Come on Lulu....you don't even have to wrap your head around this. I don't know how many female golfers read my blog, but I use a lot of Lululemon "staples" as everyday golf clothes. In general, ladies golf clothing is so boring. Lululemon could dominate women's golf with a functional and bright golf clothes! They already have some good staples. All they need is a polo!

Here are my top Lululemon picks that can be used for golf apparel:

Pacesetter Skirts (tall)

This is probably my most complimented item when I'm golfing. Obviously, it is on the shorter side...but it depends on your course. If you are on a public course or a driving range, it is perfectly acceptable....on a conservative course, they might have a knee-length dress code.

I have a few of these skirts, and everyone obsessed about the ruffles in the back. The back zip pocket is perfect for holding my tees and the side pocket under my skirt easily holds 2-3 golf balls.

Forme Jackets

This is my next absolute staple for golf. Now that it is getting cooler out, I opt to wear these at night and chiller days. Scubas are too hot, but these are perfect. They are form fitting and they move well during your swing. Lululemon's crazy colors and patterns make it a standout on the course. I have four of them, and my collection is growing!

Star Runner Pullovers

I just purchased this pullover and I absolutely adore it for winter. A little warmer than the forme jacket, I find myself reaching out for this when the weather has dropped to chillier temps. It adds more warmth without the bulk of extra layers.

Dance Studio Pants

I wear my unlined for summer nights and my lined for winter. These pants make great range pants! They are comfortable and they move well. I can even get by with them on public course in the fall.

Track to Reality Pants

One of my favorite unnoticed pants Lululemon has created! They are so comfortable with the lining, and the zipper pockets are a bonus! I can walk around with my phone and keys and not worry about losing them! You can push them up to the calves or wear them down by your shoes. I wear these for my range and putting green days.

Urbanite/Bust a Move Pants

Lululemon makes at least one pair of "urban" cycling pants a year (and always renamed). I barely missed last years pair....but they make great pants for golf on any course! When I was looking for a pair of golf pants, most are matronly and ....well....they look like golf pants. These pants can be worn on casual commutes or when you're sweating it up on the golf course. They are moisture wicking, have an abundance of pockets, and are forme fitting to give you a modern, not-so-grandma look for golf.

Fly Away Tamers and Bang Busters

If you play golf, you know you need to keep your hair back. There are overcast days where you don't feel like rocking a ball cap. With there being so many layers in my hair, I have to have something on my head or I can't see the ball. Although I favor the Fly Away tamer, the bang buster is really good too....especially if you have large layers or bangs you need to keep back.

Classy Caps

Ok...this is one my all time favorite picks for golf...the class cap! If you want a simple, colorful cap devoid of logos and tacky graphics...this is your hat! Every time I go to Golfsmith or Dick's Sporting Goods, I can never find a simple golf hat. There is always gaudy logos, terrible plaids or floral prints, and never a simple color selection. So far I have 4 of these hats, and my collection is growing. The only logo is a tiny metal Lululemon omega on the back of the cap, next to the fastener.

So Lululemon has a golf collection and they technically didn't even know it! All they need is to give us a polo and our collection would be complete!

Just another way to make your wardrobe even more versatile!

I'm off to play 18 holes....minus the polo, belt, and shoes...I'm all Lululemon-decked out for golf!

Lululemon Classy Cap in beaming blue, Nike Outlet Polo in white, Nike Golf Marker Belt in white, Lululemon Urbanite Pants in inkwell,  Lululemon Forme Jacket in soot light, and Adidas Golf Shoes in white.

(A little late) Weekly Review

Sorry for the late weekly review! I have been so exhausted this weekend. I ended up volunteering Friday-Sunday, so I ended up working after work on Friday and waking up really early Saturday and Sunday. My schedule has been all out of whack since.

I bought these awesome suede New Balance Minimus trail shoes for $50 and have been wearing them non-stop! Like my five fingers (which I don't wear anymore because the blue makes me look like an Avatar), they have a Vibram sole, so I still get that "barefoot" experience....including achy calves.

Well this is the week of the jackets! With the weather getting colder...I'm starting to bust out my long sleeves!

Tuesday, Oct 22nd - Weight Lifting

Marshall's brand purple jacket, clarity yellow ribbed CRB, and grey Old Navy crops.

Wednesday, Oct 23 - Weight Lifting/Run

Heathered black Bliss Break jacket, plum Race Me short sleeve, and grey Under Armor fleece shorts.

Thursday, Oct 24 - Weight Lifting

Soot light Forme jacket, love red CRB, white WAFS Pacesetter crops, and white Bangbuster.

Friday, Oct 25 - Cardio

Pretty pink 105f singlet, grey New Balance bra (Marshalls), and black WAFS Inspire crops.

Saturday, Oct 26 - Off!
I'm starting to wear my long sleeve swiftly under my casual clothes! It doesn't scream workout apparel when layered!

Massimo Dutti navy blazer and blue scarf, blue moon Swiftly LS, Express jeans, ink Coach loafers, and LV Boetie wallet.

Sunday, Oct 27 - Marine Corps Marathon (Volunteer)
Ok...I would have completely rethought my shoes if I known I was going to be at the Gatorade station, vice the water station. The faster runners would try to "catch" the cups...but would end up spilling most of the Gatorade....on me. My shoes were soaked with stickiness. I probably would have opted for some crappier old shoes.

Cornflower Star Runner pullover, blue moon Swiftly LS, inkwell Track to Reality pants, Jack Purcell Converse sneaks, and Sweaty Bands headband.

With my new Sweaty Band....love these! They haven't slipped at all!

Changed over for afternoon golf. Swapped my Track to Reality pants for my inkwell Urbanite pants, white Adidas golf shorts, and beaming blue Classy cap.

Monday, Oct 28 - Running

Heathered black Exhalation pullover, pretty pink 105f singlet, pique Skinny Will pants, and pretty pink Run With Me earwarmer.

Tuesday, Oct 29 - Weight Lifting
Changed over at the last minute...was feeling something bright! Kinda a little grateful that no one bought my laceoflauge Scuba! I remembered why I liked it so much!

Polar cream laceoflauge Scuba, grey Nike tank, and teal Marshall's brand crops.

So cold lately! It would be warm in Charleston all year round....only getting cold at night. I'm not used to reaching out for all these warming layers!

Here are few more outfits I wore in the past that are blue:
