(A little late) Weekly Review

Sorry for the late weekly review! I have been so exhausted this weekend. I ended up volunteering Friday-Sunday, so I ended up working after work on Friday and waking up really early Saturday and Sunday. My schedule has been all out of whack since.

I bought these awesome suede New Balance Minimus trail shoes for $50 and have been wearing them non-stop! Like my five fingers (which I don't wear anymore because the blue makes me look like an Avatar), they have a Vibram sole, so I still get that "barefoot" experience....including achy calves.

Well this is the week of the jackets! With the weather getting colder...I'm starting to bust out my long sleeves!

Tuesday, Oct 22nd - Weight Lifting

Marshall's brand purple jacket, clarity yellow ribbed CRB, and grey Old Navy crops.

Wednesday, Oct 23 - Weight Lifting/Run

Heathered black Bliss Break jacket, plum Race Me short sleeve, and grey Under Armor fleece shorts.

Thursday, Oct 24 - Weight Lifting

Soot light Forme jacket, love red CRB, white WAFS Pacesetter crops, and white Bangbuster.

Friday, Oct 25 - Cardio

Pretty pink 105f singlet, grey New Balance bra (Marshalls), and black WAFS Inspire crops.

Saturday, Oct 26 - Off!
I'm starting to wear my long sleeve swiftly under my casual clothes! It doesn't scream workout apparel when layered!

Massimo Dutti navy blazer and blue scarf, blue moon Swiftly LS, Express jeans, ink Coach loafers, and LV Boetie wallet.

Sunday, Oct 27 - Marine Corps Marathon (Volunteer)
Ok...I would have completely rethought my shoes if I known I was going to be at the Gatorade station, vice the water station. The faster runners would try to "catch" the cups...but would end up spilling most of the Gatorade....on me. My shoes were soaked with stickiness. I probably would have opted for some crappier old shoes.

Cornflower Star Runner pullover, blue moon Swiftly LS, inkwell Track to Reality pants, Jack Purcell Converse sneaks, and Sweaty Bands headband.

With my new Sweaty Band....love these! They haven't slipped at all!

Changed over for afternoon golf. Swapped my Track to Reality pants for my inkwell Urbanite pants, white Adidas golf shorts, and beaming blue Classy cap.

Monday, Oct 28 - Running

Heathered black Exhalation pullover, pretty pink 105f singlet, pique Skinny Will pants, and pretty pink Run With Me earwarmer.

Tuesday, Oct 29 - Weight Lifting
Changed over at the last minute...was feeling something bright! Kinda a little grateful that no one bought my laceoflauge Scuba! I remembered why I liked it so much!

Polar cream laceoflauge Scuba, grey Nike tank, and teal Marshall's brand crops.

So cold lately! It would be warm in Charleston all year round....only getting cold at night. I'm not used to reaching out for all these warming layers!

Lululemon Store Visit - 10/23/2013, Online Order, and Marine Corps Marathon.

Store Visit

After getting a product drop today, I decided to go to Arlington to check out the pretty pink Nice Asana jacket and to try on a few other new items.

I was disappointed in the pretty pink Nice Asana jacket. I wanted this one for sure, but it was a little on the thin side. I could see my bra through the material and it cheapened the look.

The Harmonious Hoodie was plain. I think the bottom elastic was supposed to look ruffle-like, but it just looks cheap.

There was also nothing special about the Harmonious sweats. The hoodie was soft, but the pants were a little scratchy. There wasn't anything that made me love them.....it only made me appreciate my Blissed Break sweats even more.

The Dog Runner pants were so comfy and warm. I wasn't a fan of the fit....they felt fine, but looked like a train wreck on me. There was so much puckering on the butt and crotch, despite the fit being comfortable.

There was another new scuba at the store. I don't think this one made this week's upload.

I ended up getting a pretty pink 105 f Singlet and black WAFS inspires. I only have one singlet and I looove it. It's one of my favorite pieces....I've been patiently waiting for a color I can get a lot of versatility out of, and the pink is perfect....it goes well with black, blue, and plum. Just a note, these are on the larger size. I always buy a size 4 CRB, and my two singlets are a size 2.

I am a WAFS fanatic! My inkwell Inspire crops are my #1 favorite Lululemon item. They material is so thick and compressive....the back seams make your butt look ah-MAZE-ing. I love these more than luon WUs. They breathe well and don't attract as much dirt and dander.

I feel like my WAFS collection is now complete :).

I also got the Star Runner pullover in cornflower and the Speed Tights * Lux in inkwell paisley. I really like both of these items....they equally have little details that make them both special.

I liked the Star Runner pullover, but the other ones I tried on felt too busy. With the stripes, ruffles, paisley lace....it felt a little too much. I really liked the saloam stripe, but there was just too much going on. The cornflower one was perfect. The lack of stripes didn't complete against the ruffles and lace. It definitely felt more balanced.

The inkwell paisley Speed tights had so much going on, it was hard to capture all the detail. Although I would have preferred a more matte finish like the Speed * Cozy tights, the subtle paisley print made these tights unique. I really liked the scrunched ruffles on the bottom and the large side pocket for my iPhone. The back has a good-sized pocket and the upside-down "U" shape on the butt is super flattering. Still wishing they were a little more matte, but I didn't like the hyperstripe waistband on the cozy ones.

I finally ripped off my tags for my Frye boots! Thanks for all the positive feedback.....I ended up loving them!

By the way....I stopped by Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack and was shocked to see a BUNCH of special edition Coach Fyre boots. These boots were CRAZY expensive when they came out last year. I think they had all of the styles expect the rabbit fur lined engineer boots. If they had those I would have snatched them up in a heartbeat! I wanted those so bad, but couldn't justify the price. These were significantly marked down.......ranging from $200-250.....a steal for any Frye boots, let alone SE ones!

Online Order

I ended up getting three items last week....

I was really happy to see this on markdown and snatched it up in my size. I'm so glad I did, because I ended up not liking the pretty pink one as much as I thought I would.

I ordered this on a whim, but I wish I had a chance to see this in the store. It said "reversible", so I thought the pipping wouldn't show reverse side. Just an FYI to the online buyers....the only "reversible" part of this one is the reflective material on the top. One is silver and the other side is black. Not too exciting, but I can't return it. I think I'll still get a lot of use out of it, now that its getting colder.

I bought these on a whim without thinking, and I'm 99% sure they are going back to the store. I have a pair of grey tights I bought at Old Navy. They are essentially the same color and I love them. They are so opaque and comfortable. For some reason, I was thinking that I didn't have a grey pair of leggings and then I remembered I had them....so I got the black WAFS Inspire crops and these will more than likely be going back to the store.

I talked to the manager today. She's so nice...I really love going to that store. My solid black ones are starting to fray. I don't know why, but the material isn't as good as the two WAFS pairs. I was worried my black ones wouldn't be as good as my inkwell ones, but they felt exactly the same. The manager said I can bring them in. I didn't want to wait to exchange them in case the black WAFS sold out in my size. So essentially, I have two pairs going back to the store. I don't feel as bad for buying two pairs of pants today!

Marine Corps Marathon

The store manager also invited me out to their cheer station at the Marine Corps marathon Saturday. They are all wearing cornflower blue at the 23 mile marker at the Crystal City metro stop. I really wanted to go....I would have turned my ugly brahmacharya bags I throw away into pom poms...finally they would have gotten a purpose.

I'm actually going to be volunteering at the Healthy Kids Fun Run during the marathon. Its a one mile just-for-fun race held at the Pentagon. I'll be there from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm (at least)....so if you're in the local area, stop on by. I'll be in uniform....camoflauge....but not the Lululemon kind :)

Lululemon Store Visit - 9/25/2013

Went to Lululemon today after I went to the golf range. I wore my Ebb to Studio tank in cornflower, Track to Reality pant in inkwell, and Jack Purcell Converse slip-ons. I also wore my Chai pullover in white/silvers spoon as a cover-up.

Tried the Nice Asana jacket in cornflower and the Scuba hoodie in inkwell WAFS. The Nice Asana is better than the first set of educator photos. I would say its a step above the Contempo jacket. The fit is better and the zipper doesn't have that weird pull tab. The scuba was really pretty. I really like this new WAFS pattern....I think it is my favorite WAFS pattern. I didn't need another scuba. If I sell some of my scubas this week, I might get this one.

Tried on the Can't Stop crops in soot light. I really liked them. The pockets were nice and the waistband was pretty, but they were sheer in the back!

I also tried on the CYB tank and it fit very pretty. The draping on the chest and the back is really nice. The only thing I didn't like about this was the sheerness. I couldn't buy this color....maybe a darker color would have been better.

I wasn't expecting to like the She's Swift jacket. The material feels amazing and its a well made jacket. The pockets are nice and practical, and the collar is structured with a large hood in the back. The back is cinched and gives you shape when the jacket is unzipped. The only downer is the price.

Also tried the Run for Fun crops. They looked and felt just like the Mod Moves crops. They added a little bit of ruching at the knee, but they felt like they would still ride up. I had to return my Mod Moves crops because I couldn't stand them. They had seams ripping apart and they rode up to my knee, driving me nuts!

Ok...what I did buy tonight. I got the Urbanite pants in inkwell. Since its been cooling off, I have been looking for some golf pants. Women's golf pants are range between $85-130 and they look like golf pants...I couldn't wear them for anything else. $128 is a little expensive, but I'm going to get a lot of wear out of these. I don't have any Navy skinny pants so they will have a lot of versatility.

I also bought the CRB in saloam stripe. I couldn't resist! It was the whole reason I came into the store! The educator said it ran really small. I ended up getting my same size, but I could tell the fit had more compression.

So that was it....I tried on a bunch, but got a pair of pants and another CRB! Blog sale tomorrow 10 pm EST. Please like my Facebook page if you get the chance! The link is on the right side of my blog.

Did anyone buy anything this week?

Lululemon Store Visit - 9/16/2013

So much to talk about tonight!

First of all....sending my prayers to those affected at the Navy Yard in DC. I work in the Pentagon, so I received several phone calls and emails from family, but we didn't skip a beat and work resumed as normal. Such a terrible thing to have happen many times over a short period. I had a friend stationed at the Navy Yard, but luckily he was ok.

Took the metro to Clarendon and there was a lot to look at in the store. They had a lot of the new items, but there were some I decided to pass on without trying on:

Urbanite Shirt and Henley
Tweed long and short softshell
Modern racerback (looked like a plain tank, not special)
First Base Tank

Here are some of the things I tried on, but didn't buy:

Scuba Hoodie in Slalom Stripe

Really cute hoodie.....I love the pattern. I already have a groovy stripe and a midnight iris.I would wear this more than the others, but I'm still holding out for that paisley inkwell scuba....especially since all of my scubas are greys and blacks.

Full Tilt LS in Plum

This was my first Rulu shirt that I tried on, and I can understand the hype. It's really soft. I liked the lace detail in the back. I would have considered purchasing it, but I didn't like the glaring reflective logo in the back. I wish they would do an inkwell/carbon logo for darker shirts.

Speed Shorts in Angel Wing and Slalom Stripe

Both of these patterns are super cute and they can be worn with a lot of colors. The angel wing (as you can see), runs really tiny. I can never really size down to a size 4 in the speeds, but a size 6 has NEVER felt too tight....too loose if anything. The angel wing ones clearly run small! The slalom stripe ones running a TINY bit small, but not enough for me to bump a size. I really liked the pattern of the slalom stripe ones, but they didn't fit perfectly and I just don't wear shorts that much these days

Bend and Flow tank in Cornflower

I was really excited to try on this tank when I saw photos today in the blogs! I'm always looking for workout tanks that can double as casual and exercise tops, and this one seemed to fit the mold! The top was really cute on, but I would have tried a larger size if I was going to buy it. It was a little too shiny for me. The center was luon, but the sides was a diamond mesh that has a sheen to it. It does make it more breathable, but it also makes it not as versatile for casual clothes. I try to buy things that have more than one purpose. If it doesn't, I need to literally be dreaming of that piece for me to justify buying it. Cute tank, but it wasn't a need for me.

Here are some things I tried on and bought:

Ebb to Studio Bras in Angel Wing and Heathered Black

I'm a size 6 in LLL bras....sometimes I can size down to a 4, but I definitely needed to size up on this bra. This bra was really comfy, but the size 6 cut in the back and the triangle inserts were REALLY see through and ripply.

I wanted basic sports bras, because I wear one grey one all the time and my others don't really get to be touched. I sized up to an 8 in the heathered black and it was perfect. It did not cut into me in the front and the back and the inserts did not show. It was so comfortable I didn't want to take it off.

I decided to try on the angel wing one more time, because I liked this bra so much. I came into the store dead set on buying the free to be bra in angel wing hyperstripe, but honestly it did not fit me well. The size 8 was MUCH better on the back. I knew the lining would probably show, but I never wear white bras without a shirt so that wasn't an issue for me. The only issue that bothered me was if the lining triangles would show through my tops at home. I decided to buy both colors anyways.....I figured if the lining showed on the angel wing one, I would just return it.

I tried the angel wing bra on with my aquamarine CRB because it is one of my lightest and sheer tanks I have....if its going to show through the tank, it would on this tank....so here it is.

The lining didn't show through at all. I tried it again with a white swiftly and I was happy. These bras were extremely comfy....they are going to get a ton of wear.

Out of the store lighting and back to the house. I tried them with my Pique Skinny Wills with the waist up....I always wear them rolled down. I don't think the high waist is really for me, unless I'm at like an inversion yoga clinic.
Ebb to Street tank in Cornflower

So I was disappointed with the previous tank I tried on, but fell in love with this one. I really love the color and the material is super soft. With the exception of like one built in bra tank, I wear a size 4. The size 4 fit well in the top, but the bottom is really tight and narrow. Curvier girls with hips should really try this on in the store. A size 6 worked for me....it was a little looser in the top, but I could feel it a little snug in the bottom. Not enough to size up or walk away, but if I was any curvier on the bottom it wouldn't have worked.

Fly Away Tamer Headband in Angel Wing Hyperstripe

I also bought this one. I have a white bang buster, but it is ginormous on me. The only other one  I wear is my soot light fly away tamer. This one will get a lot of wear because it is a great basic.

Despite the poor styling in the photo, I wanted to buy this headband too. They had it in the store, but online buys should buy with caution....it has NO rubber grips on the bottom side. I didn't want to buy a headband that wouldn't stay put....especially since I wouldn't be able to return a $16 headband.

Well that's all for now. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay up for the upload. I'm still pretty sick. I might set my alarm, but I'm not going to wait 2-3 hours for them to upload the products....if it is meant to be, its meant to be!

What did you guys think of this weeks upload? Anyone else love the Ebb to Studio bras and tanks like I did?

Weekly Review - What I wore

Ok....my first "official" weekly review of what I wore. I posted photo blasts in previous reviews, but tonight I'm doing a sit down of what I wore last week.

***NOTE***
I do love Lululemon, and most of my photos have Lululemon.....but I wear lots of brands from different places. Not all of my daily outfits will have head-to-toe LLL. I plan on posting outfits that are just, well...me....and I'm not always sporting LLL.

Ok....let's talk product drop. I'm just not amazed or thrilled with anything! No new pieces for me this week. No new pieces for a couple weeks :(. I am spent out, and taking a break. I'm also saving and waiting for JCrew's outerwear 20-25% sale so I can buy the stadium cocoon coat. I waited and waited last year, but I missed out in my size. I scoured ebay and never found it in my size and color. Soooo excited that the color I wanted is coming back. I'm going to need a really warm coat for my first winter in DC. (Sorry LLL).

Ok...back on track.

Tuesday - Golf Range/Practice Holes

Nike (outlet) light pink polo, Adidas Navy shorts, Nike ball marker belt (love!), Adidas golf shoes, and white LLL bangbuster.

Wednesday - Gym/Weight Lifting

 LLL black Bliss Break jacket.
LLL frond Swiftly tank, clarity yellow bra, pique Skinny Wills, grey slip-on Old Navy sneaks

NOTE: I'm torn about my Skinny Wills. Don't get me wrong. I looove how both pairs fit. I own a lot of CRBs. I don't really how the waistband makes my CRBs look bunchy. I'm going to have to wear shorter tops with my Wills :(.

Thursday - Golf Range/Putting Green

Nike (outlet) white polo, Nike (outlet) coral shorts, Nike ball marker belt, Adidas golf shoes, and LLL classy cap in white.

Friday - Gym/Weight Lifting

LLL black Bliss Break jacket

LLL white Flow and Go tank, black inspire crops, pink Merrel sneaks

Saturday - Run....and pizza afterwards :)

LLL dune Practice Freely tank, WAFS inkwell inspires, black Brooks running shoes

White/Silverspoon Chai pullover

Sunday - Rest.....lazy day and groceries!
Nike (outlet) grey tank, LLL heathered black Bliss Break sweatpants

Ok... I have had a healthy obsession with my LLL Bliss Break sweats. They are so comfy....I want to wear them all the time. I threw in a few photos to give you a comparison because of the length. I'm 5'7 and these hit me right on the ankle....and I have long legs. So here they are relaxed.

Here's the back view (love the back pockets for my keys and cards!) and how they look pushed up. I prefer to wear them this way, but I might start wearing them down when it gets colder. I like rolled the cuff up once and then pushing them up to my calves.

Here's my grocery outfit. LLL beaming blue CRB, white Swiftly SS, heathered black Bliss Break jacket, black Skinny Will pants, grey Old Navy slip-on sneaks.

Tuesday (Today) - Golf Range

Trying to wrap this up so I can go to the golf range! Wearing LLL blue moon Swiftly LS, angel wing hyperstripe Forme II cuffins jacket, Athleta Swagger Skort in Asphalt, nimbus Classy Cap, and grey Old Navy slip-on sneaks.

FYI- if you ever see me wear shorter skirts to golf....I golf at a public course on a national park. I initially showed up dressing really conservative, but I've literally seen trashy girls in booty shorts and tube tops on the course. It isn't just a relaxed dress code...there is no dress code. I'm pretty relaxed on range/putting days, but I will always dress up more when I'm on the course...just of out respect for the game. On more conservative courses, I won't even wear shorts above the knee.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog! I'll talk to you guys again soon! :)
