That's it for now! Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Lululemon try-on review from the house....

So here is my damage....Practice Daily tank in deep zin, Practice Daily crops in inkwell, Ruffled CRB in angelwing, WUs in pique, and deep zin knit legwarmers.

One of the readers wanted a comparison of my other pique Skinny Wills to my new ones. I think the new print is a little thinner, but they are just as opaque. I really love the new pair. They are so flattering. My WUs only have one inside seam, while the Skinny Wills have an inside and outside seam. They both are really cozy and make great winter leggings.

Just a warning....my apartment is a WRECK from my husband moving his stuff in! Please don't mind the TV and golf clubs in the background!

Here's the pique WUs on me. I tried to get some close ups so you can see the print. The print is much more subtle than my other pique ones.

Probably spotted my Ruffled CRB from the previous photo, but wanted to give you an up close version so you could see how much it pokes out. I'm wearing it with my JCrew rolled SS sweatshirt.

I tried to get some better light for this tank. I think it is definitely a curve enhancer and I really love the deep zinfandel color!

I really liked the Daily Crops. They are so compressive and the details are very cute! They will be a good staple to have.

Just an idea for yoga clothes turned into casual wear. The first outfit is JCrew SS Sweatshirt, angelwing Ruffled CRB, and inkwell Practice Daily crops. The next is the same tops with skinny jeans, deep zinfandel Knit Legwarmers, and Frye Veronica Slouch boots. Yoga clothes to gym clothes with just a change of pants!

I also tried a few more combos for causal Lululemon outfits with my new "boot socks."

I forgot to mention I got the surge ear warmer! Which one do you like better....my surge one or the quilted deep zin one? I think I'm leaning towards the quilted one!

I'm Back....Review of Surge half zip compared to JCrew Peacoat

So sorry for the delay. I had a lot of things going on at once. My husband finally moved up here over the weekend, so I'm up to my ears in cardboard boxes in every room. Work has also been crazy...I was working 12-14 hr days towards the beginning of the week. We also bought a new car....so excited....but that was a process within itself. I've been on the go go go.

It's also been a pretty dead week. I had an opportunity to go to the store once over the weekend, but decided not too. There is nothing too tempting this week. I don't really care for the big striped prints or the new blossom print. It looks like it could date really fast. I like the classic prints like herringbone, houndstooth, baroque....florals are hit or miss with me.

Took the husband to Georgetown today...went in to a few of our favorite stores. I still was looking for a wool coat, so I gave J.Crew another try. So glad I waited! I got the peacoat (again) in "heathered mineral" and it is a dead ringer for surge! Such a pretty color for a peacoat....it definitely is a bright coat.

I also got my package for my Lululemon Base Runner half zip in surge. It took 8 days for it to come to the east coast. I was expecting to really want to return it, but I do really like it. It's such a striking color, its hard to give it up.

I was worried about the zip part. I have been seeing some "Elvis" like collars when it is zipped down, but it didn't look bad at all zipped down.

Now I personally think it looks a little ridiculous when you zip it all the way down and roll the collar. The collar looks just silly.

So here's the surge again my new peacoat.....pretty close eh? I might get the surge earwarmers and torque now!

By the way, I mailed out the Sweaty Bands to the winners this week. If you are a winner and didn't get your SweatyBand by next weekend, please let me know!

(A little late) Weekly Review

Sorry for the late weekly review! I have been so exhausted this weekend. I ended up volunteering Friday-Sunday, so I ended up working after work on Friday and waking up really early Saturday and Sunday. My schedule has been all out of whack since.

I bought these awesome suede New Balance Minimus trail shoes for $50 and have been wearing them non-stop! Like my five fingers (which I don't wear anymore because the blue makes me look like an Avatar), they have a Vibram sole, so I still get that "barefoot" experience....including achy calves.

Well this is the week of the jackets! With the weather getting colder...I'm starting to bust out my long sleeves!

Tuesday, Oct 22nd - Weight Lifting

Marshall's brand purple jacket, clarity yellow ribbed CRB, and grey Old Navy crops.

Wednesday, Oct 23 - Weight Lifting/Run

Heathered black Bliss Break jacket, plum Race Me short sleeve, and grey Under Armor fleece shorts.

Thursday, Oct 24 - Weight Lifting

Soot light Forme jacket, love red CRB, white WAFS Pacesetter crops, and white Bangbuster.

Friday, Oct 25 - Cardio

Pretty pink 105f singlet, grey New Balance bra (Marshalls), and black WAFS Inspire crops.

Saturday, Oct 26 - Off!
I'm starting to wear my long sleeve swiftly under my casual clothes! It doesn't scream workout apparel when layered!

Massimo Dutti navy blazer and blue scarf, blue moon Swiftly LS, Express jeans, ink Coach loafers, and LV Boetie wallet.

Sunday, Oct 27 - Marine Corps Marathon (Volunteer)
Ok...I would have completely rethought my shoes if I known I was going to be at the Gatorade station, vice the water station. The faster runners would try to "catch" the cups...but would end up spilling most of the Gatorade....on me. My shoes were soaked with stickiness. I probably would have opted for some crappier old shoes.

Cornflower Star Runner pullover, blue moon Swiftly LS, inkwell Track to Reality pants, Jack Purcell Converse sneaks, and Sweaty Bands headband.

With my new Sweaty Band....love these! They haven't slipped at all!

Changed over for afternoon golf. Swapped my Track to Reality pants for my inkwell Urbanite pants, white Adidas golf shorts, and beaming blue Classy cap.

Monday, Oct 28 - Running

Heathered black Exhalation pullover, pretty pink 105f singlet, pique Skinny Will pants, and pretty pink Run With Me earwarmer.

Tuesday, Oct 29 - Weight Lifting
Changed over at the last minute...was feeling something bright! Kinda a little grateful that no one bought my laceoflauge Scuba! I remembered why I liked it so much!

Polar cream laceoflauge Scuba, grey Nike tank, and teal Marshall's brand crops.

So cold lately! It would be warm in Charleston all year round....only getting cold at night. I'm not used to reaching out for all these warming layers!

Four casual ways to wear your Vinyasa scarf....

Alright, I think I finally started to decipher Lululemon's Vinyasa scarf. Without getting too crazy with the combinations, I created four casual ways to wear your Vinyasa scarf.....

The first outfit is a casual-sneaker look with the Vinyasa scarf worn as a wrap. I snapped the snaps around my torso and let the material drape across my back. This wrap style looks the best with tees and tanks, but not loose tops since the wrap is billowy. Try some casual sneaks for a comfy on-the-go day.

The next outfit is a vest and boots look with the Vinyasa scarf worn as a vest. The snaps are the same as the first in this look but the material in the back is placed directly behind the neck. This vest style looks the best with form fitted tees and long sleeve tops. Tanks make the vest look bulky and awkward. Try throwing on some slouchy mid-calf boots for a relaxed look.

The following outfit is a classic blazer and white tee look with the Vinyasa scarf worn as a looped scarf. The snaps on each end are snapped together to created a continuous loop and wrapped twice around the neck. The double loop is easy to look bulky, but you can play with the material to flatten it out.  For a dressier look, try a structured blazer with dark jeans and ballet flats.

The last outfit is a cozy, relaxed sweater look with the Vinyasa scarf worn as a muffler. The scarf is similar to the double loop, but the snaps are unsnapped at one end. The open ends are placed on front and back of the shoulder and the remaining material is looped again around the neck. Since this look is voluminous, it looks best when you are not wearing a jacket or a blazer.  Try wearing it with your favorite tee or long sleeve shirt and pair it with your favorite slip-ons or oxford shoes.

So that's four casual wears to wear your Lulu, what's your favorite way to wear your scarf?

Check out Lululemon's adorable video on 10 different ways to wear their Vinyasa scarf....I'm now inspired to create more options!

JCrew, Lululemon, Athleta, and Barbour in Georgetown

So I went to Georgetown to return my frumpy Cocoon coat. There is a JCrew closer to me downtown, but since the Georgetown one is so huge, I figured they might have a better selection of coats this year.

It was supposed to rain. I originally had a blazer on, but decided at the last min to throw my plum DSJ in my purse. So glad I did, because it POURED rain. Loved the DSJ for the rain. Its big hood kept my head dry and the soft inside layer also kept me warm.

LLL Plum DSF with Express button down and jeans, LLL Alma tank in Plum, and my Frye Kira slip-ons.

Not very many coats at JCrew, but I did try on the Majesty Peacoat in Navy. The size 0 was much more fitted than the Stadium Cocoon coat. The peacoat didn't have the wool cashmere blend, but I thought the wool was just as soft. I had them order me a size 0 in deep bone. Not to much of a cream or white. It's on back-order until Oct 7th, but its not a big deal since they ship out of Virginia and I live in DC. I'm excited about this color....I think it will match a lot of pretty fall colors (plum, navy, brown, indigo).

Lululemon was conveniently across the street....soooo naturally I had to stop by. I saw some new goodies and I regret not taking pics in the stores. Actually the educators were a such a turn off. I'm sure they are really nice people, but they hounded the crap out of me in a sales commission way. I don't mind a friendly greeting, but I don't want to have a conversation with every educator in the store. When I did have questions, one of them really couldn't answer them...but she did admit she has only worked there for about 2 months.

I saw some new things that haven't been uploaded....the paisley inkwell No Limits Tank and a new purple CRB! It looked like that frosted grape (can't remember color name) that never came out. It was like power purple, but lighter. Kind of odd because it didn't look like a fall color. I wish I could remember the color code, because it didn't look like anything I recognized. I was hoping to see the saloam stripe CRB, but it wasn't there. :(

I stopped by to glance at the lined studio pants. I wanted to feel the lining, since I have the unlined version of the soot light. Low and behold I found a piece of gold buried in the pile of pants.....black swan in my size! Did I miss this? I didn't even know Black Swan was in the stores. I haven't seen it online either. The only time I saw Black Swan this year was on a wrap sweater.

Wearing my black swan Studio Pants with my soot light CRB and Jack Purcell Converse sneakers.

Studio material: Black Swan, Inkwell, Plum, Soot Light

I also got the Vinyasa scarf in plum/inkwell hyperstripe. I was wanting a solid inkwell, but I figured it would work with my new deep bone JCrew Peacoat or a navy jacket. I like that the navy makes it look more purple and gives it dimension.

Ha! Please don't ask me how to style this! I literally looked at it like a foreign object. I know there is a bijillion different ways to wear it...I guess I'm going to have to start working on my origami.  I'll post pics of it later if I can decipher the the scarf.

So I went to Athleta next. Its weird.....I actually liked a lot of there things and the materials felt nice, but I walked out with nothing! I'm usually turned off by Athleta. It's a little too boho hippy for my taste. I can find a few pieces I like, but usually there's not much I want to try on.

So I tried on 10 things in the store and there were 2 things I really liked

They do have a lot sweaters in pretty fall colors. I really liked their fall pallet compared to the summer. These were ok. The material felt nice, but they were a little pricey.

I am drawn to purple, but none of these were winners for me. I think I am between a XXS and an XS. Their sizing is VERY generous compared to LLL. I liked the dress, but $100 is a lot for a dress that didn't wow me. The material on the dress was really thick and nice though.

I do like the pocket options for the phones/mp3 players. I don't know why they felt the pocket on the middle jacket needed to be outlined in reflective material. The ruffle on the side was a little to much for me, but overall I loved that color. The hoodie on the right was really soft, but it just wasn't special. It felt amazing, but was a little over-priced. I think Athleta's are more comfortable than the LLL's scuba, but the scuba looks a little more fitted.

Ok...a winner. This little rain jacket was cute and the price was good ($128). I did have to size down to a XXS, but its cute for the anorak trend....and I felt it would actually repel rain.

Ok....now the tights. VERY tempted to try their tights there, but don't expect a big drop in the price. They are very soft. This pair of leggings reminded me of LLL WUC in Flash, but this color was sheer. I could see my undies and any little lump and bump. I would pass on this color, but would consider this style for the summer or hot yoga.

My almost purchased leggings....The chaturunga tights were in a pretty paisley pattern. They were really soft and comfortable. I liked the softness better than WUs. The paisley was really nice. Unique, but not too crazy. I really wanted them, but I didn't think I would really wear them because I don't practice yoga much these days :(.

So my biggest prezie to myself..... :)

I got a Barbour jacket!

I LOVE Barbour jackets, but they are pretty hard to find. Stores that carry them, don't have a large selection, and its one of the few brands that don't sell online. I made a trip to the flagship store when I was in Georgetown.

This is one of their classic coated canvas jackets. I really wanted this one, but I found out that this one of their "classic" jackets and it only comes in black. I don't wear a lot of black, so it was out.

I tried on a quilted canvas jacket then this one. This isn't coated canvas, but it was the warmest! The fleece lining was making me sweat just trying it on! I was afraid to look at the price tag, because the others were around $500. I figured with it being warmer [and my luck], it would probably cost more. Nope! $329 and a steal! I decided to go ahead and get it, because Barbour doesn't keep all of their styles and colors in stock....plus this is a classic coat. I consider it like my Frye boots....it will be an investment I will have for years.

In the end....goodies from JCrew coming, Georgetown LLL educators need to dial down a bit, Athleta will be on my radar for future items, and I love my new Barbour jacket!

So here's a tip....sometime soon....hopefully tomorrow...I will be having a BLOG SALE! I'm clearing out some of my things in a closet and I wanted to give you guys a chance to buy them before I put them on ebay!

Ebb to Studio bra and a JCrew Failure

I was totally lusting after the JCrew Stadium Cocoon coat that I missed out on last year. Maybe I double sized down, but the new one is not like last year. :( I hope they finally stock some of the coats this week so I can promptly return. Sooo sad. :(

It's just to baggy. I like mod style coats but there's just too much room. I might opt for their classic peacoat in bone.

Another update on the Ebb to Studio bra....really comfortable. It still gives me support without feeling like a sports bra. I'm so glad I got two colors! Wearing the Lululemon Ebb to Studio bra in angel wing with an Express top, AE jeans, and Jeffery Campbell boots.

Working out and going to the range for an hour at the practice holes.... More to follow!

What do you think of my coat fail? Any suggestions for an alternative?
