A bunch of store visits!

Ok...I know it has been awhile. I'm finally settled in my new place and finally have internet! (whoo hoo...thank you Verizon!)

Since it has been AGES since I've done a store visit, I'm going to do one large post of several store visits I did in the fall.

For one of my more recent store visits, I wore my JCrew Peacoat, Lululemon Refresh Racer in Inkwell, Lululemon Post Practice Cardi, and Frey Veronica Slouch Boots.

Turn Around Tight in White Herringbone, Size 6

I really liked these Turn Around Tights in White Herribone. I liked the ruching on the side, and the panels gave it more support than normal Wunder Unders.

I actually don't have many long tights anymore. I think I sold most of mine since they were black (and black is being slowly phased out of my life). I like how light these are and the fact I can wear them in any color....they already got a ton of wear!

The material was really thick since it was Rulu. They were completely opaque (and really soft).

Twist and Turn Tank, Size 6

The Twist and Turn Tank was marked down....a lot. I think it was $29ish? I really loved the Nightfall color, but I couldn't justify the color since I couldn't wear it with a lot of bottoms.

Twist and Turn Tank in Toothpaste, Size 6

I ended up getting the Grey and Toothpaste version since I could wear it with almost all of my colored bottoms. I also liked that it was a great neutral with a pop of color. It is a well supported bra for a built in bra tank...especially for the chesty ladies. I don't have many built in tanks anymore, but this one is great. I will get a ton of use in the summer.

Om Tank in Ombre, Size 4

The Om Tank was cute in Ombre, but it reminded so much of my Fabletics Tank I got a few months ago. The quality wasn't much better, and I couldn't see myself paying that much for it. The Exquisite Bra was nice, but I was really hoping to try on one in Nightfall. I did like the back design though.

Karamacollected Jacket in Heathered Grey, Size 6

I really wanted to love the Karmacollected Jacket, but I couldn't justify the ridiculous collar! I didn't mind the jacket with the zipper open, but the collar was just too much to try to control.

Exquisite Tank in Nightfall, Size 6

The Exquisite Tank was pretty in Nightfall, but this was a like and not a need....so I needed to leave it in store for someone else to love.

In one of my other store visits, I wore my Rain Runner Jacket in Rust Berry (LOVE this jacket by the way), Athleta Sugar Rush Pullover, Heathered Grey CRB, and Frye slip ons.

Fleecy Keen in Fuel, Size 6

I tried the Fleecy Keen again this year, and have the same opinion as last year. It's really cute but not worth $198. It would be a better value if it was about $50 less.

Awesoma Henley in Hyperstripe Slate and Ghost, Size 6

I did pick up an Awesoma Henley on sale. I was impressed with the softness of the Henley, and it ended up being a steal on markdown.

Radiant Long Sleeve in Heathered Rust Berry and White, Size 4

I really liked the Radiant LS, but I couldn't figure out my size. The 4 looked the best unbuttoned, but looked too tight buttoned. I ended up grabbing a 4, and I'm glad I did....it ended up stretching out a tiny bit making the fit perfect.

Om & Roam in Heathered Rust Berry, Size 4

I ordered the Om & Roam pullover online in a size 6, and it was HUUUUUUUGE. I'm glad I gave it a second chance in a size 4. It has been easily one of my favorite fall items...it's so soft and warm. I love longing around in it.

Bhakti Jacket in Black Grape, Size 6
The Bhakti Jacket in Black Grape was one of my bigger disappointments this year. I wanted to love this one because of the color, but it just didn't lay right. I think the material was too thick. Last year, the black looked great partially unzipped and fully zipped, but this one looked awkward when it was anything but zipped.

Yogi Racerback in Heathered Angelwing, Size 6

I liked the Yogi Racerback because it worked with for casual and workout wear, but I thought the size 6 was a little too big.

Yogi Racerback in Heathered Berry Yum Yum, Size 4
I tried the Yogi Racerback in a 4, and the fit was much better. I definitely will get a lot of use of this tank outside the gym.

Well that is it! Thanks for being great readers! I hope to have all of my blog kinks worked out soon. Expect another blog sale. After moving AGAIN, I took it upon myself to do another closet cleanout.

Lulu in Layers

I'm baaack! Ok...not back-back, but I finally have my computer back. I had a series of abnormally-crazy events and even ended up moving apartments (again). I've finally finished de-boxing, and my last step preventing me from blogger freedom is getting my internet transferred. Note- I'm convinced that Comcast, like every TV/Internet company, is a second form of satan brought here to make our lives hell.

I feel like I have missed so much in the last couple months...even black Friday and Cyber Monday....but I'm baaack. There has been a little buying here and there, but I wanted to provide some feedback on my two recent Lulu loves:

The Love Tee

Lululemon Love Tee (Size 6), Massimo Duitti Silk Scarf, Citizens of Humanity Skinny Jeans, and Jeffery Campbell Boots
I really heart this soft relaxed tee made of buttery soft Vitasea fabric. It has a flattering scoop around the hem to cover your bum, v neckline, and cuffed sleeves. It has been a great white staple for the winter....I'm just trying my best not to fudge it up by spilling something on it (let's be honest...I'm not the most graceful thing that has walked this earth).

It's comfy enough for lounging, looks great with skinny jeans, and breathes well for workouts....I'm a fan!

Lululemon Wrap it Up Sweater (Size 4) with Lululemon Fatigue Fo Drizzle Jacket (Size 4) and Louis Vuitton 35 Speedy

Made of Merino Wool, this Lululemon Sweater has easily been a winter favorite. I have reached for this sweater the most this season with its pretty drape and unique details (i.e., elbow pads, zippers). The wool fabric is surprisingly warm and soft....without being itchy. I'm definitely glad I invested in a good cardigan that will get a lot of love this winter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I love these two pieces! I'm wearing 3 Lululemon pieces in this outfit....would you have guessed I was wearing athletic apparel?

I'm so sorry for my absence.... I'm looking forward to posting again! I have a few more fall favorites so keep an eye out for more posts to come!

Fabletics June and July Review

Playing a little bit of blogger catch up so I'll be posting my June Fabletics review along with my July review!

In June I ordered the Baja collection. I already had two of these three items in my May Fabletics review, but I knew I liked the style and quality.

The Baja is a three-piece outfit that retails for $49.95 to subscribers and comes with the True Tank, Sevan Bra, and Lima Capri.

I received the True Tank in white, Sevan Bra in pink grapefruit, and Lima Capri in cerulean. I had a little bit of an ordering snafu. I was supposed to order the tank in a size x-small and the bra in a size small, but I accidentally reversed it....I ordered the bra in a x-small and the tank in a small.

The True Tank is just a basic sleeveless white tank. It was made baggy, and the material is soft and thin.

It's a little too big for me, but it still works. I just wanted an extra white loose fitting top to wear around when it is really hot and humid outside.

The Sevan Bra had the same really nice quality as my first one. The material is ridiculously crazy-soft. I wish it had bra inserts, but I guess it defeats the whole purpose of being a seamless bra!

I was half-expecting the x-small to not work out at all, but I was surprised that it wasn't as tight as I thought. It's still a keeper, and I don't have any other bras in this peach-like color.

I was happy to see that my Lima Capri were made of the same fabric/quality as the pair in my May review.

Like the May review, the material was awesome, and the crops are an amazing deal. Unlike some of my Lululemon crops, these are 100% completely opaque.

The top was a little too baggy, but that was a goof on my part. I was still happy with my June order!

I ordered the Barbados outfit for July. I'm glad I ended up picking this outfit because it ended up selling out! The three-piece set comes with the Oula Tank, Kola Bra, and Suva Run Shorts.

I was really happy to pull these items out of the packaging! The colors were just as vibrant as the photos. They definitely made me more cheerful looking at them!

I was initially worried that the material on the bra was slightly lighter than the shorts (in the photos), but I was happy to see that both materials were a perfect match.

For a  $49.95 three-piece set, I was really impressed with the quality of this Kola bra. I also appreciated that it was well sewn, and they included bra inserts!

I managed to order my correct size this month (size small) so there were no sizing issues. I did notice a little fading of the material when stretched, but it didn't appear to distort the color in the print.

The front has a slight v in the front without being a deep "plunging" neckline. The keyhole back was also very pretty and unique. The bra also had very good support. I wouldn't have any issues with high intensity workouts or my trapeze class (where I'll be hanging upside down).

The Suva Run Shorts looked the same from last month, but I think the material was a little better. It definitely wasn't a 4-way stretch, but there was more 2-way stretch than last time.

I also liked the details on the shorts and the fact that they have an inside pocket big enough for keys and/or credit cards.

The fit of these were really nice. I didn't see any weird lines or whiskers in the front. Everything laid flat, and there was no issues with the liner. I'm really happy about these shorts....they are perfect for summer.

I was really impressed with the quality of the material used in the Oula Tank....it was so soft!

It definitely is a great dupe to Lululemon's Swiftly Tank. While the material doesn't have Lululemon's silverescent anti-stink material, I think the material in Fabletic's Oula Tank is much softer. I did a side by side of my Lululemon Swiftly Tank in neon pink (size 4) to my Fabletics Oula Tank in purple (size small). As you can see, the tanks are essentially the same size. The Oula Tank has a very similar neckline and armholes, and it is only about a half inch shorter than the Swiftly Tank. For $20, the Oula tank is a steal compared to the Swiftly Tank at $48.

The fit on the Oula Tank was great. It wasn't too big or tight, and the length was just right. I'm really impressed with this style and will probably order it again in the future!

I paired my Hard Tail Slouch Back Pullover with my new Fabletics outfit and I think it made the back look so interesting with the Kola Bra.

I liked my Baja June outfit, but I really loved my entire July Barbados outfit. I definitely picked a winner despite it being so hard to choose. July had so many great options that I'm tempted to go back and order more! As tempting as it is, I think I'll wait in the even I don't love all of the August selections.

Is it just me or is Fabletics getting better and better? I still can't believe the quality I got for a $49.95 outfit. That's a little less than $17 a piece!

Subscription Review - FabFitFun Summer 2014 Box

My Summer FabFitFun Subscription Box is here! I always feel like it is Christmas/Birthday/Special Day when I get these gift wrapped subscriptions boxes in the mail. Seriously...it makes my day to have a pretty little box to unwrap...even if I cheated and peaked at the spoilers!

The FabFitFun VIP subscription box is a quarterly box that promises over $100 of hand-picked, full size products. I love this brand because I know I will always get a great deal despite using every product in the box. I also like that they show 2-3 spoilers that help me decide if I want to purchase the box or not.

I love the handouts in this subscription box. They are always printed on nice quality paper and give a detailed description of each product and value.

(These are shown in the order I pulled them out)

Thursday Friday Away Mini Clutch/Makeup Bag - Retail: $35

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with this bag. I was not excited at all when I saw the spoiler of this bag. I think there were like 6 designs and only one of them (a feather) was not a designer purse photo on a bag. I personally think this is tacky and not my style at all. Unfortunately, 95% of their products are designer bags on canvas bags.

What's sad is the bag is actually well made. The materials are high quality. The zipper is heavy weight, and there is a nice liner on the inside. Sad. I can't get over the whole bag on a bag. It's about as cheesy to me as an airbrushed bikini body on a t-shirt.

POPchips - Retail: $1.29

I love chips, but they are terrible for you! When I do indulge, I try to get ones that have all natural ingredients. I like that these run about 100 calories a bag. These will be eaten very soon....

(Sponsored Products)

Skintimate Shave Gel - Retail: $1.99
Always Xtra Protection Long Daily Liners - Retail: $1.50
Slimfast Have Your Cake Meal Bar - Retail: $1

There were a lot of complaints about these "sponsored" products from subscription box lovers. Honestly, a free product is a free product. I don't mind them, but I like the idea of bagging these separately to not throw off the whole "curation" of a subscription box. I'll use the shave gel and probably toss the pads and Slimfast bar.

KISSTIXX Lip Balm - Retail: $5.99

I'm a HUGE (HUGE, HUGE, HUGE) Shark Tank fan so I always get excited to see real Shark Tank products in person; however, this KISSTIXX lip balm is a little too juvenile for me. I feel like this would be more appropriate for a tween box.

Pur~Lisse Pur~Protect SPF 30 - Retail: $55

I've had some skincare products from this brand before so I'm happy to receive this bottle in SPF 30. I just got back from the golf course and it was 95 degrees today. This was MUCH needed! I buy high quality moisturizer to prevent wrinkles so I don't mind the price tag if I end up loving it.

Zoya Nail Polish - Retail: $9

I heard there were some variations of this polish, but I got the Zoya Nail Polish in "Maya." I happen to love this color. If my toes weren't recently painted red for 4th of July, I would have instantly painted them tonight. It is a very pretty "summer" color. I don't have a huge nail polish collection so I love this one.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial - Retail: $95

I love a good peel, and don't mind splurging on a great one. With that being said, I probably will not contribute any additional funds to the dragon lady, "Sonya Dakar." On her Beverly Hills Yelp page, Sonya Dakar has been reviewed as a complete dreadful person.  I'm happy to use a good peel at a discount, but I'm not so sure this is a company I would want to support in the future. If you want a good bedtime read, I highly recommend reading her Yelp page.....very dramatic.

FabFitFun Water Infuser BPA-Free Water Bottle - Retail: $15

While I am really happy to finally have a fruit infuser (seriously...I have been wanting to try this for a long time!), I'm not as excited about the phrase at the bottom, "Grab Life by the Exercise Balls." I think the saying is a little juvenile and cheesy. I'm kind of glad it wraps around the bottom....it makes it hard to read so I'll still use it! :)

Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil - Retail: $25

My hair is naturally a freakin' lion's main so any hair oil for frizz is welcome. I haven't cracked this open yet to give it a try, but it's a win for me. I'll use this all year long.

In order for me to determine the true "value" of the box, I decided to do something a little different by sorting my "winners" from my "losers."

These were my losers. Unfortunately, the bag is not my style and I wouldn't even use it for makeup. The KISSTIXX is a little too juvenile for me, and I'll probably toss the pads and Slimfast bar.

$35 + $5.99 + $1.50 + $1 = $43.49 worth of product not for me.

It did help me see how much product I'll actually end up using. I'll definitely use the peel, hair oil, SPF moisturizer, and nail polish. I'm not thrilled about the quote, but I'll still use the water bottle. I'll also use the shave gel and eat the POPchips.

$95 + $25 + $55 + $9 + $15 + $1.99 + $1.29 = $202.28 of products I'll actually use.

(I did google all of the products and they are sold for the price they were listed as "retail.")

I received $245.77 dollars of product for $49.99. I'm going to use $202.28 of these products so the box is a win for me!

While I think I received a good value of products, I was a little underwhelmed with the curation of this box. I didn't think it was as thoughtful as the Spring FabFitFun Box or June PopSugar Must Have Box. There was no theme, and I have much higher expectations for a quarterly box vice monthly.

I think FabFitFun and PopSugar are some of the best subscription boxes out there, but I also think you need to order with caution. Everyone has different tastes and opinions, and each company has delivered "duds" in my eyes. For example, I absolutely loved my June PopSugar Box and Spring FabFitFun Box. I was a little underwhelmed with this one, and I ended up not liking the July PopSugar Box (which had a lot of great products...just not for me). I think both of these subscription box companies are excellent, and I HIGHLY recommend both of them....with that being said, I also recommend that you check out the spoilers for each box to see if that month or quarterly box is for you.

Despite the lack of creativity/curation, thiis box had a lot of great goodies at a great price. If you would like to get this box for $15 off ($35 box!), use the coupon code 4568999 on the FabFitFun website. The code only works for 3 people so the first three to use it can get the discount while the box is available!
