Lululemon Store Visit - 2/21/14

Uh....yeah.....this is WHY I'm "banned" from Lulu store visits for the next two weeks. I vow to return when Lululemon starts churning out uglier patterns and colors.

I stopped by the Bethesda store when I was in the area for an errand and it was mayhem...total mayhem. From the product drop emails, they always seem to get different items than the DC area stores. I just wanted to give a quick glance....mostly for a Bali Breeze CRB....but no....I was bad again....really bad. If I haven't resold a boatload of items over the last few weeks, I probably wouldn't even be making that many purchases...but it has helped me feel moderately guilty instead of extremely guilty.

I got a beachscape Bangbuster. They were all so different. It wasn't like most pattern placements were you could be slightly choosy. These were all so different, some didn't even look like the same pattern.

If you haven't seen Lulu Addict's post, the bang busters were quite different. I meant to snap a quick photo in the store, but I was in such a hurry I didn't take any store photos.

Markdowns were also quite different in their store. They had a white size 6 Race with Grace half zip, but it was at full price. It was odd, because they had other newer items on markdown like this Flow and Go tank in vintage pink. One of the educators said they get so much product at their store, that they markdown items that no longer have a full size run. Can't say I'm going to complain with that one :).

My vintage pink Flow and Go is the same fit as my white one. These tanks are both a size 4. The pink one is a little twisted in my photo, but they feel exactly the same.

I was thrilled to find these rad plaid/flare Tracker shorts on markdown....especially for $29! I just recently passed on these even though I liked them. For $29 they were a steal so I snatched them up!

Glad the size was consistent. I didn't even try these on or the Flow and Go tank. Luckily for me, they work out and will be perfect for summer!

I was also surprised to see the fatigue studio pants in the store. I wanted to try a size 4, but all they had was a size 6. I'm not in total love with my black swan lined studio pants....the fit is a little too baggy and they make me feel frumpy. I tend to only wear them when it is really cold, and I will throw them on over my leggings.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the fit was a little better. A little tighter in the bum and a little shorter at the bottom. Being 5'7, I didn't have to loop the bottom in a million knots. I won't have to hem these. I'm glad they are a little more fitted. I didn't want them to be so tight that my butt looked like an over stuffed sausage, but at least they have a little more fit in the rear.

It's hard to tell, but the black swan ones are about 1/2" wider and an 1" longer than my fatigue ones. The little bit material makes a huge difference.

I also was REALLY surprised to see the Fo Drizzle in Fatigue....all size runs. I saw that Georgetown got them, but no other stores have received them. I have had no interest in the Rise and Shine because it's camo, but I do really like the fatigue color.

I haven't gotten the verdict from the husband yet, but I'm not sure if he's going to love it as much as I do. I really liked the cashew one, but I don't think I would have been able to keep it clean. The fatigue does have more of a masculine vibe, while the cashew one is a little more girly with the rose gold zippers. I like both looks.

The actually functionality of it is pretty great. The material is really nice, and I like that the fit is long enough to cover my butt. I liked the vent zippers, built in hood, and iphone pocket. The zip down the back is nice, because you can make it as fitted as you wanted. The only thing I would add is a double zipper down the front instead of a single. The fit is baggy, but still fitted. Lulu has churned out several rain jackets in the past and they all looked terribly baggy. I like that this one doesn't devour you. The sizing is slightly large...I got the jacket in a size 4. I jump back and forth in jacket sizes....I think I am in between a 4 and 6.

Ugh....well...that lasted long. :( FAIL.
