How to "Steal" a Deal on Athletic Clothes - Hukkster and Gixen

We have all been in this situation... You find something you love online, but it's too expensive. You keep checking the sales, but missed the sale when it was released and your size ran out. All of that time spent stalking was wasted.

Meet Hukkster and Gixen.... My two favorite programs that let me live my life, without the shopping stalking and obsession.

Hukkster is a web and mobile application  that tracks sales for you. It works just like Pinterest. You can pin items to you wall as you shop around using a button on your web browser or through the search box on the application.

Here's the search box on the mobile application. I was able to bring up Lululemon, Athleta, Old Navy, Nordstrom, etc...most companies. (It should be noted that Lucy did not show up on the app search).

When you find an item you like, you press "Hukk It" to save it. This item happens to be already on sale, but we can watch it to see if it gets reduced even more.

After clicking, you will select your size and color. If you are wanting to watch multiple colors, you need to "Hukk It" for every color you want.

You also choose what type of reduction. You can choose any sale reduction ("on sale" button) or choose specific reduction percentages. For example...you might be interested in a $400 jacket, but only if it is 50% off or more. If that was the case , I would select the "50%" button and it would notify me if the jacket in my size and color went on sale for $200 or below.

Your item will be saved to your list, and the site will notify you if goes on sale. It will also notify you if there is a store wide sale (i.e. 30% friends and family) if it meets the threshold you selected.

Once the item goes on sale, you will get an email and/or push notification and you can click on the link to buy!

Honestly....quite amazing! I always forget about an item and come back to it... Only to find it sold out in my size! Seriously...give if a try! I'm going to try this with Athletica products since they go on sale more frequently than Lululemon.

The next program is Gixen. Gixen is a web based program that provides a free eBay sniping service.

When I go to Gixen.com I log in with my eBay name and password. Don't worry it's a free secure service and does not ask for your credit card information.

When you use Gixen, it "snipes" the item you want to purchase. What that means is that it puts your bids in seconds before the bidding process ends, keeping the "bidding wars" and interest in an item to a minimum. I have only used Gixen twice and I won both of my bids.

As an example...if I'm shopping for an older paid of Lululemon shorts, I might want to make a bid without others trying to outbid me.

I will collect my item number from the product I want to bid on and paste it on my Gixen profile.

I pasted the item number and put the max bid at $58. What that means is Gixen will bid up to $58 dollars seconds before the bidding closes. Now if the bid raises higher than $58 before the bid ends, I would have to raise my max bid.

After I added my item, Gixen will store the information and place the bid on my behalf. That's it...it's simple!

So that's two new ways to "steal" your athletic clothes through markdowns and eBay. Hope that helps!
