Alright fitness ladies.....I'm leaving for vacation on Thursday! Seriously...so excited. My new job has very little opportunities for vacations, so 12 days of vacation is a serious treat.
I'm flying out to Orlando on Thursday. I get a day with my sister. She works at Disney, so it always makes a fun place to meet up. On Friday, I'll meet my husband and his parents Friday in Port Canaveral. Saturday we will board our cruise and head to Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Costa Maya and return the next Saturday. I'm so excited to get a little R&R!
When we get back, we'll go to Epcot Food and Wine fest. Seriously.....its the entire month of October and it is an absolute MUST if you are an adult and are in the area. You will eat and drink yourself sick...thank goodness there is a lack of thrill rides in that park :) . We might go to Universal Studios the other day, but we have no concrete plans.
Sooo.....12 days away from home, I was wrapping my head around what to bring. My husband and I are pretty active, so there will be some running and lifting on vacation.
Here's my fitness staples that I will be bringing:
The goal of my packing was to pick pieces that would have flexibility. I tried to pick items that could be either worn as workout or casual, and I also tried to pick colors that could be easily interchanged.
Bra-less Tanks: CRBs are my absolute favorite tanks to wear under my casual clothes or as fitness tops. I picked colors that I would be able to wear more than once. My neutrals can go with yoga pants, shorts, or under a shirt. I also brought my polar cream 105 F singlet. These singlets are great. They are loose, breathable, and will look great with yoga pants or over a bikini at the pool.
Shelf-bra Tanks: When I'm not wearing swimwear, I would like to avoid wearing an underwire bra as much as possible.....all without looking like a saggy-boob hippy in a sheer top. I'm packing my Ebb to Studio tank in cornflower and my Alma tank in plum because they have supportive cups, look great, and breathe well.
Reversible Clothing: I'm packing some reversible pieces to get some 2 for 1 outfits. My Chai pullover in white is an awesome, light sweater that will be perfect to and from the gym or those chilly days. My DSJ in inkwell will give me a little more warmth and will protect me from light showers if its raining.
Basic Bottoms: This was hard for me....I wanted to take several pairs of my favorite bottoms, but I ended up choosing three essential basics in neutral colors. I packed my bliss break sweats for a comfy pair of pants to wear around the room and keep me warm. I like these, because I can wear them down or push them up to my calves. I also brought my white WAFS speeds for running and workouts...the white and grey will go with any color. I also threw in my Inspire crops. I love these running crops and wear them for everything. They stay in place and I actually prefer luxtreme over luon for hot yoga.
Essential Accessories: Even though I'm going to be in a bikini most of the time, I'm packing my Ebb to Studio bras. I love, love, love these bras! My absolute favorite! Not only are they super comfortable, but the bras give great lift to the girls. The low cut front doesn't show under casual tees and the thin straps don't scream "sports bra!!!" if they peak out. I'm also bring my fly away tamer headbands (I'm also bringing my soot light one, but I need to get it out of my car). They look cute in bikinis and will keep my hair from getting sweaty. I'm also packing my Vinyasa scarf in inkwell/plum hyperstripe. It is nice and warm....replacing the need to pack my flight blanket, and it can also be worn as a wrap. The last thing I'm bringing is a few of Lululemon's resuable shopping bags. These bags (unlike their recent ones) are in a fun print....I can throw some of my pool essentials in them or use them to put my wet swimsuits in....plus they pack flat!
I definitely wouldn't be packing this much, but I going to be out of town a lot longer than usual! So that's all! I might throw in my exhalation pullover, but I'm wearing it right now! lol.
If you were going on a trip, what's your absolute fitness essential?
