So I had a moment to stop by one of my local Lululemons. I wanted to try some of the Water Bound items and the new Bruised Berry Roll Down Wunder Under Crops...luckily for me, they had a lot of the items I have been wanting to try!
Pace Rival Skort, size 6 |
Rocket Skirt, size 6 |
The Rocket Skirt in Camo was a little generic for me. It wasn't worth the price...like some of the other Lulu-Addicts out there, it felt like I could have bought it at Forever 21. Even at a cheaper price, it wasn't for me.
Marathon Crops size 6, Water Bound Tank size 4 |
The Marathon Crops were really cute in this Pretty Palm print. I wasn't a fan of the fit...but I typically have the same issues with Mod Moves Crops...which are very similar. Despite the print being really cute, I also didn't like how it stretched white when bending. (They were pretty opaque though.) I'm not a fan of crops that hit me at the knee, so it was an easy pass for me.
The Tank was really cute. I already have black tanks, but I would have been interested if it was in another color like Bruised Berry or Cadet Blue. The laser cut details made it difficult to wear casually, but it felt really silky and lightweight...perfect for really hot workouts and trips to and from the pool.
Run Times Shorts, sizes 4 and 6 |
Water Bound Crops, size 6 |
I was not expecting to like the Water Bound Crops but I did! The material was a little shiney for my preference, but I did like how they fit....great compression and opaque material. The laser cut details at the bottom were fun. I'm usually not a fan of the laser cut details...sometimes it can look really cheap. This made it interesting and not as cheesy. I don't need any other crops in black or I would have been tempted by them. I have a pair of Black Inspire Crops...so that's enough for me!
Water Bound Shorts, size 6 |
Water Bound shorts were a little too skimpy for me. They kinda felt generic...like my Roxy and Billabong ones....I actually prefer my Roxy ones to these! They flare out too much in the back and the fit was a little to tight in the front.
Water Bound Bra, size 6 |
WUC Roll Down, size 6. WUC, size 6. Be Present Pullover, size 4. |
I really wanted the Bruised Berry Crops :(. I tried on both the Roll Down Wunder Under Crops (WUC) and the regular WUC. I found them both slightly sheer....I could see a bit of the tag standing up. They did look pretty opaque in the back....not Lululemon's best....but definitely not their worst. As much as I liked the color, I have so many crops I'm trying to be super picky when adding to my collection. I have *gasp* .....25 pairs of crops....and I'm not even counting full leggings. Unless I unload on a few, I'm looking for ones that are sheer perfection (no pun intended).
The Be Present Pullover was nice, but Black was the only color I could stand trying on. It was nice, but a little too heavy for summer. It would have been nicer to have a more delicate sweater....but this would just sit in a box for months if I got it.
Every Yogi Tee, size 4 |
I really looooved the Every Yogi Tee in Stroll Stripe Heathered Cashew. I was tempted to buy this print in a Cool Racerback, but I was sold on this tee. I'm starting not to wear my Cool Racerbacks as much in the summer because they are a little thick. This is breezy, soft, and all around amazing. It's perfect for a casual wear with jeans and sandals too. I'll also wear it to the gym with all of my crazy solid yoga/running crops.
Cool Racerback, szie 4 |
Ugh...the one I loved that got away. I wanted the Bruised Berry Forme so bad....like all of my other Formes....it fit amazing. I hope I don't regret not buying this in the future! I really can't justify buying another Forme at this time...even though I would love this color. I used the little bit of will power I had and passed on my Forme.
I really liked the Run Times Shorts so I bought the Palm Print ones in a size 4. The size fit too, but I preferred the slimmer fit in the legs.
Here's a comparison of some of the other Lululemon shorts. From top left, clockwise: Run Times Shorts (size 4), Speed Shorts (size 6), Groovy Run Shorts, and Shake and Break Shorts (size 4)
The Speed Shorts were slightly bigger in the hips (about a 1/4" on each side) and about an inch or so shorter. The Groovy Run Shorts were longer and a tad smaller in the waist (but so small it wasn't really measurable). The Shake and Breaks were smaller in the hip because of the elastic band, but the same length.
Here's a comparison of the different fits:
I think from the photos, the Run Times Shorts fit the same as the Groovy Run Shorts in the front. The back is a little more fitted though.
I haven't decided if I was going to keep them or not. I don't wear a lot of black and white....so I prefer solid colors. I might keep them for the next two weeks and see if they come out with another color like Bruised Berry. I did find out that the waistband matched one of my Volcom swimsuits...crazy!
I had to get the Every Yogi Tee...I really liked the material in this one...It will get a lot of wear for causal and workouts outfits.
So that is it for now! Have you bought anything new from Lululemon lately?
