It was another quick trip to Lululemon today! I was planning on exchanging my Chai Time II Pullover but also ended up exchanging my Run Times Shorts as well. The shorts were cute, but I thought the material was a little on thin side. I don't like it when a thin liner can be mistaken as granny-panties.
I was "hoping" to walk out with more money on my credit card, but that obviously didn't happen :). I couldn't take any photos so sorry to disappoint! My phone was at 3% and I still had a metro ride back. I really didn't try on much else anyways. The only other things I tried on was the Run a Marathon Crop II in cadet blue and the In the Flow Crops in forest green.
The In the Flow Crops were gorgeous in forest. I would say that is the most opaque I've ever seen them; so if you love those crops, these are great. I just don't think the In the Flow Crops are made for my rear....I'm not going to dig up all of the past unflattering photos of me in them, but they make my rear look massive. Maybe its the high waist and seamless material? I don't know, but I never seem to like my booty in them.
The Marathon Crops were cute in cadet blue. I really liked the style, but I think the length is a little too short for me. I need more of a mid-calve crop, or the material will start bunching up around the knees.
I ended up trading my goods for the Still Shorty Short in soot light and the Embrace Crops in heathered cadet blue.
I was pleasantly surprised with the Still Shorty Short. My store only had them in black and soot light, and I almost breezed right by them. I tried on the Get On It Short and the Ok Hi Short a few weeks ago and they were TERRIBLE on me. The only gave these a try because I have read some good reviews. I wasn't going to hold my breath in hopes of these working out. I have tried Still Pants in many sizes and materials, and they look horrible on me.
The shorts look and feel just like the Still Pants with the exception of the length. There is about an inch of material rolled and tacked up at the bottom.
You can wear them with the waist up or rolled down, but I prefer to wear them with the waist rolled. They were really, REALLY comfortable shorts. I can easily see myself living in them over the weekend....especially when its too sticky for denim shorts.
I'm pairing the shorts with my Lorna Jane Ella Bra in watermelon and my Oiselle Vertical Drop Tank in white. I'm not big on the high-waisted look, but I think I could find a way to make it work with a billowy top. The tank I had on is a little twisted and probably needs to be either tucked in flat or loosened up. Meh...I'm undecided. (Please feel free to chime in on opinions and advice!) I still really like the shorts since they don't look like pajama bottoms or sweat pants...I think I just need to play around with them more.
I tried on the Embrace Crops on my last store visit, but I talked myself out of buying them.
[sidebar convo]
I really, REALLY love my reversible Wunder Under Crops (WUC) in cadet blue/black. I almost bought the Inspire Crops in cadet blue, but I talked myself out them since I just got the reversible WUC. I discovered last week that my beloved cadet blue WUC are pilling on the inside crotch area and they are starting to get too hot for summer use.....soooo I'm starting to kick myself for not buying those. I bought the Dhanurasana Crops and love them, but I prefer them for casual wear and less humid workouts.
So now the Embrace Crops were taunting me. I know I probably won't be able to find the solid cadet blue Inspire Crops at a reasonable rate. I can't even find them in my size so near-retail price is probably out of the question.
I liked these because they were thin material. The heathered material is actually luon even though it feels like luxtreme. I also liked that they were thin but still opaque.
The bottom detail on the calves was pretty, but I probably could have done without the ruffled waistband. I prefer the waistband to be flat so my tanks will lay flat; however, the gathered waist is still pretty.
So that's it for today. What do you think....fair trade today? I am sitting in my Still Shorty Shorts so that has to be a good sign, right?
