Luxury Fitness Apparel

More and more luxury brands are starting to dabble in activewear. Trina Turk, Theory, Alexander Wang, Emporio Armani are just a few of the designers getting their feet wet in the world of activewear. Tory Burch will be adding to the lineup....debuting her activewear line Spring 2015.

With brands like Lululemon, Athleta, and Lorna Jane, it is typical to spend $80-100 on premium leggings without blinking an eye. Luxury brands are changing 150-400% more for leggings, making our coveted premium brands look like a bargain.

While some of these luxury brands are just as functional just as much as they are fashionable....other's are inflated under their label without any means of creativity. Let's take a peak at a few of the latest designer activewear brands:

Trina Turk

Debuting Spring 2014, Trina Turk's activewear is unique and colorful with their quirky prints. The designer is an active fitness fashionista, and you can tell by her feminine, yet functional designs.

Trina Turk's prints are great, the prices are in line with typical premium activewear brands. I'm really excited to see more of their line in the future!

Adidas by Stella McCartney

Always with the latest trends in mind, Stella McCartney combines function effortlessly with fashion. Since 2005, Stella McCartney paved her way with an award winning big box collaboration with Adidas. There would be no chic at Adidas without Stella McCartney's line.

Adidas by Stella McCartney uses a great range of color and trendy designs. Her prices are also in line with other premium activewear brands. This is one of the luxury brands I'm lusting to give a try.

Theory 38

Theory 38 is an innovative activewear line by Theory. Although designs in the past have been sporty, there hasn't been many new designs released. I'm wondering where the direction will go with this line. The styles are limited and prices are high.

EA7 by Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani's activewear line, EA7, is well....lacking. The designs are generic...the rhinestone shorts are tacky...and the prices are high... where every item is about $145. I feel this brand has failed in creativity and the high cost is for the logo. I'm sure McKayla Maroney would not be impressed.

T by Alexander Wang

A hefty price tag but with great quality, Alexander Wang brings luxury sweatpants to the upper class. Pretty details and premium fabrics are used in his $200 sweatpants.

Although pretty and classy, $200 sweats are above and beyond typical premium activewear brands. $98 Lululemon french terry sweats just seam cheap in comparison.

Lucas Hugh

Lucas Hugh designs "luxury athletic wear for "the women who does not want to compromise on technical performance or style." While some of the designs seem nice, the price is hefty....and a few of the bras and tops look like knock offs of Lorna Jane's Pammy bra....or maybe Lorna Jane knocked of Lucas Hugh? Either way, expect to pay 250% times more than Lorna Jane's Pammy bra. This brand is well beyond the typical premium activewear prices.

Michi

Though lacking color, Michi's luxury line will make any female feel like a little badass with their line of mesh and cutout activewear. Their bra designs are amazing, but don't expect any color but black. One of their unique bras will run about 250% the cost of a typical premium brand....but it might make you feel like a rockstar in the gym.

VPL

VPL is another luxury activewear brand, but has quirky and modern designs. Their tanks and bras are pretty, but their prices are a little broad. While a bra might run slightly more than a premium brand, a tank is up to 400% more than typical premium activewear brands. While a little pricey, you don't have to worry about running next to someone with your same top.

My Picks: Insertion Bra, $85 // Convexity Breaker Tank, $185 // Aluvian Sweatpants, $285

We Are Handsome

We Are Handsome is a luxury brand that designs premium leggings and bikinis in crazy prints. Their prices are just about as crazy as their prints, costing almost $300 for a pair of leggings. If you were looking for jellyfish or stallion leggings, this is your brand. Although pricey...they do have reasonable sales, lowering the price to $140....about 150% more than the typical price of premium leggings.

My Picks: The Hideaway Legging, $287 // The Oasis Legging, $200 $140 // The Mustang Legging, $287 $200.90

I don't know about anyone else, but my $80-100 leggings are starting to look better and better! While I think some of these brands have something unique to offer, I think others are very overpriced because of the label (ahem...EA7, Theory 38, Lucas Hugh....*cough cough*). I am very interested in trying the Stella McCartney and Trina Turk activewear lines. Michi offers some really pretty pieces, but their prices are so high! I am always loving crazy tights....maybe I can try some We Are Handsome ones if I find the right deal, but definitely not at $287! :)

I know there are some crazy Lululemon lovers....paying $300-500 for slightly used "sacred" Lululemon items. Would you shell out $200+ for your sweatpants?

What is the highest price you would pay for your activewear?
