My rad plaid lullaby/ambient grey Speed shorts are in! I didn't make a trip to the store this week....or the last two weeks for that matter! None of the local stores have been getting anything really exciting, so I haven't been as tempted to make my regular visits. I even have a gift card from my returned Chai pullover, but I'm waiting for something truly exciting. Maybe they are giving us a breather after all of the printed Wunder Under excitement lately!
I was very excited to receive these shorts. Some thought these were a little drab, but I thought the light grey was a great neutral with accents in fun spring colors!
I loooove how each color was stitched on the back piping. The multi-color stitching and zipper made these shorts so adorable!
These were a little tighter than I was expecting. It was a little odd. They looked fine from the back and they didn't pinch in at the waist. The whiskers are a little heavier in the front, but I'm in love with the pattern! :( Do you think they are too tight in the front to keep?
(All size 6)
My white WAFS Speed shorts are the tightest of the 5 I bought. Even though they are tighter and shorter, they don't pull heavy whiskers like some of the other pairs.
I think the chevron dot in black Speed shorts have the best length and look the best from the rear. They still have some whiskers in the front.
My brisk bloom Speed shorts have the best fit in the front, but they were really baggy in the back. My husband didn't find these very flattering in the back, but I kept them to have a looser pair for my conservative gym at work.
I really REALLY REALLY wanted to keep these zing pink apex Speed shorts. The color and stripes are adorable. I couldn't get past the black liner and returned them. I questioned my judgement until last week. I saw a girl in the mall with the shorts on. They looked cute on her, but I could see her black liner really far away. It definitely looked like she was wearing black underwear, even though it was her liner. Such a shame. They messed up with the liner!
I wish they would get their consistency down! I don't really know what to expect when I order Lululemon Speed shorts, but I'm not big or small enough to size up or down when there is inconsistencies. I have 5 local stores in my area, but they don't regularly get Speed shorts in. Unlike other popular items (i.e., Wunder Unders, Cool Racerbacks), it is not likely I can find a certain type of Speed short in my size.
I don't like sacrificing good fit, but not many brands have cute prints AND comfort. I used to wear the Nike Tempo shorts for the longest time, but it felt like I was wearing a baggy diaper underneath!
Do you sacrifice fit for Lululemon's Speed shorts or do you have favorite from another brand?
