Back in November, I started subscribing to Ellie's Fit Fasionista Club membership. The Fit Fashionista club is a monthly subscription box that allows you to select two fitness apparel items for $49.98. At first I was pleased, but I have been slowly itching to cancel my membership. (You can read all of my Ellie reviews in the review section.)
Initially the company was very good. I ordered my items and received them a week later. I forgot to select my outfit in January....and apparently February.....so I was shocked to see two packages show up to my door on the same day. Annoyed at by the delay of the January "mystery" outfit, I was planning on canceling my subscription.
As I was contemplating my membership, I was suckered in......darn. They had a space dye print, so I decided to give them one more shot. I ordered the Core Power Tee in XS and the Balance Capri in S.
I ordered my package March 8th. My package arrived March 21th in December. The package somehow didn't get delivered until March 24th. I have no idea why it took almost a whole month to deliver something a week, and I continue to be baffled as it sat in Washington, DC for 4 days before it was finally delivered. Ellie wasn't starting off on a good foot this month.
I was finally able to try on the items. The material was softer than expected. I've had to return items give away items in the past because the material was itchy and shiny. These were very nice to the touch and didn't have a sheen. I starting to be much more optimistic again!
The material used on the Core Power Tee was more cream than white....but wholly molly. It looks like a giant circus tent on the floor. I had to check the size several times to make sure I got an XS. Yep...it was an XS, but I could probably gain 50 lbs in my belly and still be able to fit in it.
The top seemed like a let down, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Balance Capri. The space dye print was really pretty with greys and purples. The material was really soft and nice. The waist band was also the same shape as my first pair, which I loved!
The Core Power Tee will have to go back. It was just way too big. It's a shame, because I would have liked it if it was more fitted. I checked the website to see if they had a size smaller than XS, but XS is their smallest size. This really baffles me, because I know I'm larger than the model in the photo....so how I am I swimming in this while it is fitted on her?
The fit and material on the Balance Capri was very nice. I will definitely be keeping these. I found these opaque, compressive, and soft. The Balance Capri was a win!
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this subscription company. The Balance Capri were nice, but the Core Power Tee was a bust. The shipping was also a bit of a mess. I haven't canceled my membership yet, but I skipped the next month. I have had good and bad experiences with both Ellie and Fabletics. Just keep in mind that it is "bargain" athletic apparel....sometimes you get exactly what you paid for.
Have any good or bad experiences with Ellie? Let's hear them!
