I got some Surge III shorts for my husband, but he didn't love them....so I decided to go to the Lululemon Clarendon Store to exchange them. On my way, I read a comment from one of my readers asking if I got a Scuba today at $50 off! What a great deal! I was definitely interested in picking up a Scuba for $58, but I didn't know what would be left in stock.
I tried on the Chevron Dot and the SE Scuba. I liked the Chevron Dot, but I don't wear Scubas that much. The SE Bow was nice, but the pull tab was ridiculously large.
There was a white brushed Nice Asana jacket on markdown for $89. I was very interested in a white jacket, since it would go with every color I own. I do like how some of the Nice Asana jackets fit, but felt like the white kind of fit a little frumpy for me.
Tried the Bhakti Crops in Baraoque Blue. The blue was stunning, but these fit a little odd. They felt like "faux" low-riders. I kept wanting to pull the blue part up, but I couldn't! lol
The mesh on the sides was nice, I could see these being nice for hot yoga. They were also very compression, but they weren't a win for me. I thought the waistband was a little too odd for me.
The real surprise was the Bhakti jacket in black. They didn't have it in Baroque Blue. The material was pretty thick, and I liked that you could adjust the zippers to expose your tank tops underneath. If this came in deep zinfandel, I would have been all over this!
Although I didn't need it anyways, the only deal breaker was how the jacket looked open. I don't like jackets that only looked good zipped up, and this looked like a hot mess unzipped.
I also tried on the Run Bandit pants and Baroque Blue Swiftly Tank. I liked the color of the swiftly tank, but I didn't need it. The Run Bandit pants were comfortable. I still prefer my Track to Reality pants because I can pull them up to my calves. These would be a good alternative if you missed out on the Track to Reality pant. They are more of a straight leg.
I tried the In the Flash shorts in black. I liked the compression shorts underneath, but the butt wasn't flattering and I didn't like the front seams.
The Bhakti Yoga Shorts were terrible....just terrible. The only good thing was that they were lightweight. They would be great for hot yoga or really humid summers. The sizing is very small....I would have needed at least a size 8 to make these work. The fabric was lightweight, but so cheap it puckered at the bottom...you could easily see my butt!
I never tried on a pair of Groovy Run shorts, and I found out they just were not my cup of tea...I'm going to stick with my Speed shorts from now on....
They also had a raspberry brushed Forme jacket on markdown for $89. I really liked the color, but I have a few Forme jackets already.
I put on the Scuba for comparison. While $58 is a good deal for a Scuba, I just don't wear them that often. They are (almost) too casual for non-athletic apparel, and they are too heavy for golf and running. I mainly wear my others to and from the gym. I really like my Forme jackets and I wear them ALL the time. Perfect for running, the gym, and especially golf. Even though the raspberry brushed Forme jacket was still a little higher on markdown than the Chevron Dot Scuba, the Forme was still the winner today.
Yay for me going into Lululemon NOT wearing Lululemon! I try not to go head to toe, but I usually have at least SOMETHING Lululemon on....usually a CRB under a sweater. Here's to stepping away.....
I wore an older Limited sweater, express ballet pink tank, skinny jeans, and my Ugg booties. Yay!
So I snagged a fresh teal 105f singlet out the door. I actually liked this color as a singlet in the store.I'm wearing it with my Ebb to Studio bra in heathered black.
Here's a better view of the color. It looks a little like mint.
I love the scalloped edges and stripes in the 105f singlets. They look great as a summer tank at the pool and are very functional for the gym, running, or hot yoga. I've knotted mine in the back when I want my shirt to stay down during hot yoga....it is super soft and breathes well.
I do like the looser fit of these, but I think they run a little big. I wear a size 6 in most tops and jackets and a size 4 in CRBs. I always buy my singlets in size 2....two sizes down from my true size in Lululemon. I'm getting ready to go to the gym and I'm wearing them with my WAFS Black Inspire Crops.
Its easier to see the color in natural light. I do like the richer shade of pink. The brushed doesn't feel too different to me, but I found the fit pretty good for luon. Pique has been by far the best fit by the way...I'm wearing the jacket with my Parallel Stripe WUC. So much fun.
I also got a Swiftly Fly Away Tamer in Angel Blue. It has been by far my favorite blue, and I'm afraid the US won't see it as much as Australia. They are already pushing new color pallets....so I'm afraid we missed our boat. I would love to see a CRB in this color!
Did anyone snatch up a Scuba today?
