Insightful Athlete: Lululemon Store Visit

It was a little cold today, but I bundled up to go to the driving range. It was too windy for the golfcourse, but the driving range at least has heated bays. I decided to stop on the way back at the Clarendon Lululemon and got myself in trouble, because I wasn't expecting to get anything!

Soot light/nimbus groovy stripe Scuba hoodie, raspberry Base Runner LS, black swan Dance Studio pants, and heathered pique Run with Me ear warmer.

Tried on the new pique WU leggings and wholly molly. I liked the first pique Skinny Wills with the wider stripes, but the recent WU pique and herringbone looked terrible on me. They weren't very flattering and cast weird shadows, making my thighs look bigger than they were. These are much more slimming, soft, and completely opaque. I couldn't see my underwear at all. I wore these to the gym earlier and I'm in love. Even my husband, who isn't a big fan of LLL, liked these.

I also tried on the angelwing CRB with ruffles. I was really excited about this tank when it came out, but after reading the reviews and seeing the pics I didn't even give it a chance. I have been looking for a cream based tank and I like that the ruffles can peak out under my sweaters. I ended up getting this one for casual clothes....I don't plan on wearing this at the gym.

I tried on the Scoop tank in winter orchid. Wow...you can really tell the difference between luon and luon light. It was really thick. I really want a winter orchid piece, but I have only seen it in a Swiftly SS and this tank. I'm holding out for the Ebb to Studio tank....I love that tank! This one was nice, but I didn't like how I felt like the back was pressing down on my shoulders. I only had it on a minute and it was starting to get uncomfortable.

Tried the Practice Daily tank on because I loved deep zinfandel and I thought the satin straps in the back was pretty...but wow...this was really flattering the front. It hugs you in the right places and gives you curves. It does run a little small. I wear a size 4 in CRBs, but I get size 6 tops.....this was a 6 and it would have been too small if I was any bigger. I think I'm going to really like this tank like my plum Atma tank. I wear the Atma tank more with my casual clothes than I do to actually workout in!

After trying on the knit leg warmers, I paced the store contemplating whether or not to get them. I really wanted some boot socks and I didn't want standard neutral colors. $58 seemed a little steep for boot socks, but I really liked them when I got them on. They are thick and I have so many colors I can wear zin with. I have a feeling I might regret getting these later....

The Fleecy Keen jacket was cute in deep zinfandel, but it was sadly a no. I think the price point is just too high at $198. I just got a JCrew wool coat that is much warmer for $225, and I don't think this jacket is warm enough for that price point. It does have nice details, but I would have rather seen it between $150-168.

Tried on the Practice Daily crops to see if I liked them in full-on luon. I had issues with the Skinny Grooves being sheer and I wanted to try on another pair. These were like "whoah" compressive. They weren't extremely opaque like the pique, but I was really impressed with the compression. I wore my WAFS Inspire crops in the gym the other day. They felt fine on, but when I did squats in them they felt loose. I had to turn around and look at my butt because I seriously felt a gust of wind! I was worried I ripped a seam and exposed my butt! They just felt looser when I squatted. These felt great. They are by far, the most compressive feeling crops I have tried on from LLL in a long time. I also appreciated the double pockets on the sides for my iphone, and I liked the satin-like detail on the bottom.

So ughh...I did not mean to buy two pairs of pants. Be on the lookout for an updated blog sale soon. I'll probably be getting rid of a few more items....so keep a look out for some new Lululemon resell items in the near future. I hope there some ugly uploads soon! haha. The only thing I'm dying for is a deep zinfandel Don't Hurry pullover.
