Lululemon Store Visit - 1/29/2014

Brrr....It  was cold tonight. I am so ready for spring! I hate waking up and checking the weather to see that it "feels like" temperatures in the negatives.

I had so many warming layers! I wore my JCrew wool coat with my Lululemon deep zinfandel Fluff Off vest.

It was a little country-bumkin casual, but I guess it works...I was more worried about being warm! I also had my ruffle CRB in angel wing and my Cocoa Pique WUP underneath.

I was actually pleasantly suprised with the Yin to my Yang Cardi. I hated it on the model....it looked like a frumpy lab coat, but I have been noticing cute photos of it on educators. I have to admit....I did like it. I sized down to a size 4. The bottom was almost a little snug, but it fit nicely. It still had that menswear feel without being overly boxy.

I do like coats that look good open and closed, and this was one of them. The only thing I didn't like was the black trim on the grey. I probably would have considered this if it had matching trim. It would have been more of a win if I could wear it with black or navy.

I tried on the Zing Pink CRB. I liked the color....the material was a little on the thin side. I have a few bright CRBs, so this one was a pass....especially since I just bought one in Paris Perfection a few months ago.

The trim was really cute. Sometimes I think they over-do the stripes when they have it on the body and the piping. I like it when they add it to a solid color.

The Healthy Heart Pullover was cuter in person. I can see why people like this one. It's a comfy, relaxed pullover. With it being made of Rulu, it is a little on the thin side....so don't expect it to be a thick warming layer.

If I didn't have so many jackets and pullovers, I would be tempted with this one. Maybe this one will come on markdown. I tried it on in a size 4 FYI....

The Mula Bundle Wrap wasn't terrible....the material was nice, but it kind of looked a little on the cheap side. This style has been over-done...I don't think it would be a stand out.

I do like the fatigue green color. I just prefer jackets that look good open and closed. This wrap wouldn't be as practical if it didn't look good zipped up.

Overall, I didn't hate it....it was just "meh".

I was looking at shorts and there was a random pair of Shake and Break shorts in Parallel Stripe. I have never been interested in these, because I thought they would fit really frumpy like the Groovy Run shorts.

I was pleasantly surprised. They had a little more length, but they weren't as stocky in the legs like I thought.

I will probably keep these so I will always have a more conservative pair of shorts at work. I like that these are a good basic that will match a lot of my CRBs and Swiftly long sleeves.

I tried on the Core Kicker and I was disappointed! The material was reaaaally thin. I didn't really care for the fabric puckers inbetween the boob area. The horizontal back strap was also too tight...cutting into my skin. I think this top would support larger chested girls, but I don't know if they would like it. If they had any kind of back fat, it would probably dig in the back. I had a size 6 and I felt the straps felt like a size 4. The In a Flash bra essentially has the same back, and I felt like those straps fit me a lot better.

FYI...more boob "censors". The top didn't have inserts and it was really sheer. No one wants a peep show.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Twist bra in soot. I tried on a size 8, and it completely covered me. I tried on some of their swimsuit-like tops in the past, and they made me look like a stripper. This one could easily be passed as a swim top. I was fully covered and didn't feel like I would have any accidental "slippage".

I tried on a size 6, because the size 8 felt slightly loose. I did think this one felt a lot more supportive. I could see this as a cute top for hot yoga or activities like stand up paddle boarding.

I ended up getting the Shake and Break shorts....I thought the diagonal stripes were cute.

I also got another Ebb to Street bra.

I didn't get to try it on in the store, but I got this one in a size 8. Its the same size as my other two.

The padding looks like its much better. It is the same size as the actual bra, so it doesn't seem like it will shift around a lot. I don't really have any issues with my black one, but I do have to be aware of my inserts in my angel wing one....they shift around and sometimes have to be adjusted.

I really like these tops because they are really comfortable. I really like the deep v because I find myself wearing them with casual clothes. It doesn't scream "sports bra!" when I want to be lazy. I did notice that adjustable straps can start to loosen a little if I wear it all day. I really love these bras and was happy to see more colors!

After I found out I liked the Shake and Break shorts (by accident), I ended up ordering the Pop Plaid version. I still can't get over the black liner in my Zing Pink pair, so I'm going to have to make a store trip within the next week to take them back. I think I have until next Tuesday.....

Last Night's Upload....Future Store Visit

Some interesting products popped up on last night's upload. I wanted to get to the store tonight, but between getting out of work later and my golf lesson....I don't think I'm going to be able to fit it in. I am hoping to get it in tomorrow night.

I still want to try on the Core Kicker tank. I'm not thrilled that is in luxtreme....I prefer luon for tops, but it has a pretty back that is worth trying on.

I love my Ebb to Studio bras. I have two of them. I will probably get the teal or pink one so I can have a color option.

I really liked my Ebb to Studio tank. I would like to see the Zing Pink Light color in person.

The Mula Bundle wrap looks interesting. Not sure if it is for me, but I want to try it on.

I'm not a camo person, but I am intrigued by the "fatigue" solid color. I think this color is very fitting for the type of pants it is...a lot of colors look like hospital scrubs, but these do not.

There is a lot of buzz over the new green WAFS WUC. It looks like mainly the fatigue color with surge and white. Probably wouldn't match a lot, but I'm just as much a WAFS fanatic as I am an Inspire crop fanatic.....I might be in trouble if these come out in Inspires.

Looks like Australia got our Iconic wraps....yay! *insert sarcasm* :(

......keep a look out for a store visit in the near future!

Limited Blogging in February

Hey guys....just letting you know that I will probably be doing some minimal blogging this month. I still plan on providing my Weekly Workout Report and any other fit reviews when I go to the stores.....I just won't be doing any "Lulu-latest." I like staying on top of the Facebook feeds, but if I was to limit a time-consuming process, I would chose that one.....especially since other blogs primarily focus on the Facebook feeds and cover the store product drops pretty well.

Not meaning to neglect....I just have a big exam coming up on March 1st that will more than likely turn into a "practice" exam. I've been attempting to "self-study" for the ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt exam (not martial arts related). Trying not to get too distracted with "pretty things" :).

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Lulu-rant.....

Ok...there has been a lot of ranting towards Lululemon. Yes, they have upset some customers. Yes, they have made bad business decisions....but this rant is not for them. This rant is out to those who review the product.

I started putting a few reviews on Lululemon.com over the past few weeks. I figured with all my photos, maybe it might be beneficial to those who do not come to my site. One of the things I have noticed (and it is driving me NUTS), is the "helpfullness" vote....I have noticed if you say anything positive about something the "general" population feels is negative, they will flag your review as "not helpful." I have especially seen this on more heavily discussed items like wunder unders, scubas, and formes.

I get the general complaint when the Scubas or the Formes changed, but people will continue to vent well after they made improvements to the design. Whether its blasting super negative reviews or voting "not helpful" on other reviews, they will do whatever it takes to ensure their voice is heard......but they had their chance to be "heard". The Define jacket didn't even make top 2 products voted to return....and that was voted by CUSTOMERS.

I have a review I wrote on an older account complaining about the WUs. This was when I got a really bad "pantyhose" like pair when I first starting buying Lulu. It got like 372 of 376 votes as "helpful"....just because I was bitching.

Let's rewind here and back the tracks....what is the "helpful" vote? The helpful vote is supposed to be an indicator if the review will "help" a reader make a purchase. Whether its talking about the material, fit, sizing, etc...it's there to weed out the irrelevant reviews (i.e. "OMG, i like toally love my new WUC...yay!") from the relevant (i.e. "The baroque blue CRB is not quite TTS. I would say it might be a half size up.") This is to help the buyer make the right purchase in regards to size, fit, yada yada....

What is has turned into is a popular (excuse me) bitch-fest of people complaining about one thing or another, despite acknowledging any relevant changes. I'm all for constructive criticism, but it is a waste of time when people vote "not helpful" on things just because they don't like what you said about a particular item, regardless of it being "helpful" feedback or not. If you can read a review and take away something that helps or impacts your decision to purchase, its a helpful review. It is not a helpful review if you whine, cry, or try to downgrade other reviews.

I'm not for dramatics or stupid behavior, so I am choosing not to review any products on lululemon.com in the near future. Sadly it is not lululemon.com....it is the readers. If people want an honest opinion on the fit and style of an item, they can read my unbiased feedback in the "product review" section.

Seriously though....I'm not that butt-hurt over it....just a little annoyed when I see juvenile behavior that imposes on others who are seeking honest feedback.
